Mexico rules out joint border patrols with U.S.

Man am I really getting tired of this one ,  If it is the U.S. fault that the drug cartels fight and kill each other over control of drug corridors , because we Are their biggest Purchasers of their product !   Then why the hell is it also our fault that they buy illegal guns and use them in their crimes ?   they sell , we buy , our fault !     we sell , they buy , our fault again ???
Why the hell is Hillary agreeing with this type of thought coming out of Mexico ?

LONDON (Reuters) - Mexico will cooperate with the United States in sharing intelligence to fight drug trafficking but does not plan joint patrols with U.S. forces, President Felipe Calderon said Monday.

"We do have to work together but that does not imply the joint participation in military operations or even a joint participation of law enforcement agents," Calderon said at a press conference during a state visit to London.

The Mexican president said forces from both sides of the border should share information to try to stem the flow of illegal drugs and tackle the gangs who supply them.

The United States has stepped up security on the border with Mexico after new President Barack Obama  put Mexico's drug war high on his agenda.

Crushing the drug cartels, who arm themselves with smuggled U.S. weapons and leave slain rivals in public streets, has become the biggest test of Calderon's presidency as the bloodshed rattles investors and tourists.

Calderon noted that the U.S. demand for drugs and the availability of guns there were fuelling the violence.

"Violence and organized crime is not only a problem for Mexico, and it has been acknowledged by President Obama, this is a common problem," he said.

"It has to do with the fact that our border is the border with the largest drug market in the world and with the main producer and seller of guns in the world," he added.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton acknowledged last week during a visit to Mexico that an insatiable appetite for illegal drugs in the United States was to blame for much of the violence in its southern neighbor.

If that is the case  Hillary , then it is The drug cartels insatiable Appetite for Illegal Guns that is the cause of all the murders in Mexico !

Taliban abduct 11 Pakistani policemen

The Taliban seem to be stepping things up a bit ! Maybe because of all the predator strikes over the past few months .
no doubt they have not slept very well , and the paranoid thoughts they must be having over wondering if someone is a Snitch , must really be a strain on things !

LANDIKOTAL, Pakistan (Reuters) - Taliban militants kidnapped 11 Pakistani policemen on Sunday in an attack on a security post in the Khyber region on the Afghan border, a government spokesman said.

The kidnapping came two days after a suicide bomber killed 37 people in an attack on a mosque in the region, through which pass vital supplies for U.S. and other Western forces in Afghanistan.

"Militants came to the Shin Qamar checkpost before dawn and disarmed our policemen and then bundled them into vehicles," said Rahat Gul, a spokesman for the Khyber administration.

Gul said the militants had not issued any demands: "We've launched a search but there's been no progress."

Militant violence has surged in Pakistan since mid-2007, with numerous attacks on the security forces and on government and Western targets.

Khyber was largely free of violence, but last year militants stepped up attacks on supplies traveling through the Kyber Pass bound for Western forces battling the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Pakistan sees the violence in Khyber and across the northwest as a result its support for the U.S. mission in Afghanistan.

U.S. President Barack Obama  announced a review of policy toward Afghanistan and Pakistan on Friday, vowing to tackle militants in Pakistan's ungoverned border areas.

G20 protesters face police with Tasers

Man would I love to see this , these Global summits seem to always draw the Hippie anarchists out of their Mom and Dads basements !
If all these little nitwits do get violent I hope they unload with the tasers , they will have deserved it ! anyone finding video please send me the link to it I would greatly appreciate it !

TimesOnline
SCOTLAND YARD is to deploy officers armed with 50,000-volt Taser stun guns to deal with violent demonstrators planning to disrupt this week’s G20 summit in London.

The centrepiece of the security plan will be hundreds of officers from the Metropolitan police territorial support group, who are routinely armed with speedcuffs, extended batons and CS gas spray.

The Met confirmed yesterday that they will be supported by officers equipped with Tasers on stand-by should trouble break out.

“There will be an armed response vehicle element to this operation and [those officers] will be carrying Tasers,” said a spokeswoman.
The Met’s admission that Tasers could be used for the first time in the UK during riots came as protest groups claimed police had contacted them to warn that a day of protest in the City on Wednesday would be “very violent”.

Russia to build 6 nuclear subs with cruise missiles

This is nice to know , Along with China building up it's Military , Knowing now that Russia is doing the same , I wonder if the Obamasiah , thinks it a smart idea to "Downsize our Military" or just do nothing ?

MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- Russia will build at least six nuclear-powered submarines with long-range cruise missiles for its navy, a source in the Russian Defense Ministry told the Itar-Tass news agency.

The missiles can potentially carry low-capacity tactical warheads, the news agency reported Friday.

"These supersonic, highly maneuvering missiles are designed for strikes on aircraft carriers of the enemy if the latter poses a direct threat to Russia's security," the unnamed source told Itar-Tass. "The missiles can be launched at the most important coastal facilities."

The source added, "Despite the construction of a new nuclear submarine with new missiles, Russia intends to observe firmly international arms control agreements on equal terms with other countries."

The Severodvinsk-class submarines are being built at the Sevmash shipyard, the center of Russian nuclear submarine production, according to Global Security's Web site.

The new subs will be put into service for the Russian navy in 2011, the source told Itar-Tass.

Russia will finance the construction of the new submarine with long-range cruise missiles, First Deputy Chief of the Navy's General Staff, Vice-Admiral Oleg Burtsev told Itar-Tass.

Hamas frees rival Fatah leaders in Gaza

Always something silly going on in this part of the world .

GAZA (Reuters) - Hamas Islamists in the Gaza Strip released three leaders from the rival Fatah faction of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, hours after they were arrested for questioning, Fatah officials said on Saturday.

The Hamas-run Interior Ministry in the Gaza Strip said the Fatah men were detained for questioning after holding an "illegal factional meeting." Fatah officials later confirmed that the three men had been released.

They said among those held was Abdel-Rahman Hamad, a former minister in the Palestinian Authority, who had been meeting fellow Fatah members in the city of Gaza.

Hamas and Fatah will meet on April 1 in Cairo for a new round of Egyptian-brokered unity talks aimed at healing a rift that has been widening since the Islamists group seized the Gaza Strip in 2007 from forces loyal to Abbas.

The Palestinian president later set up a new administration in the West Bank, where Fatah holds sway.

Afghan president welcomes U.S. strategy review

Nice to see everyone in agreement that Al Qaida needs to go , I don't think that Iran is going to be to helpful with anything the U.S. is involved in Though .

KABUL (Reuters) - Afghan President Hamid Karzai said on Saturday he is in "full agreement" with the U.S. review of strategy on Afghanistan and Pakistan and said the plan to include Iran in a regional role was a "positive thing."

"It is exactly what the Afghan people were hoping for," Karzai said of the review.

"The plan to include Iran in a regional role ... it's a positive thing and we hope to use this opportunity in a positive way for the good of Afghanistan," he told a news conference.

President Barack Obama unveiled a new war strategy for Afghanistan on Friday. The strategy's key goal is to crush al Qaeda militants in Afghanistan and in Pakistan who he said were plotting new attacks on the United States.

"We back this and we will be working very, very closely with the U.S. government to prepare for and to work on implementing everything laid out in this strategy," Karzai said.

The new strategy comes with violence in Afghanistan at its highest level since U.S.-led forces ousted the Taliban in 2001 for sheltering al Qaeda leaders behind the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.

The insurgents, often operating from safe havens in the border regions of Pakistan, have escalated their attacks, with violence spreading from the south and east to the outskirts of the capital, Kabul.

How it should be !

I have no clue who this is , but it is one of those things that sum up how you feel !
from Factoids

Robert Green Ingersoll (1833-1899)

When I became convinced that the universe is natural—that all the ghosts and gods are myths, there entered into my brain, into my soul, into every drop of my blood, the sense, the feeling, the joy of freedom. The walls of my prison crumbled and fell, the dungeon was flooded with light, and all the bolts, and bars, and manacles became dust. I was no longer a servant, a serf, or a slave. There was for me no master in all the wide world—not even in infinite space.

I was free—free to think, to express my thoughts—free to live to my own ideal—free to use all my faculties, all my senses—free to spread imagination's wings—free to investigate, to guess and dream and hope—free to judge and determine for myself—free to reject all ignorant and cruel creeds, all the "inspired" books that savages have produced, and all the barbarous legends of the past—free from popes and priests—free from all the "called" and "set apart"—free from sanctified mistakes and holy lies—free from the fear of eternal pain—free from the winged monsters of the night—free from devils, ghosts, and gods.

For the first time I was free. There were no prohibited places in all the realms of thought—no air, no space, where fancy could not spread her painted wings—no chains for my limbs—no lashes for my back—no fires for my flesh—no master's frown or threat—no following another's steps—no need to bow, or cringe, or crawl, or utter lying words. I was free. I stood erect and fearlessly, joyously, faced all worlds.

And then my heart was filled with gratitude, with thankfulness, and went out in love to all the heroes, the thinkers who gave their lives for the liberty of hand and brain—for the freedom of labor and thought—to those who proudly mounted scaffold's stairs—to those whose flesh was scarred and torn—to those by fire consumed—to all the wise, the good, the brave of every land, whose thoughts and deeds have given freedom to the sons of men. And then I vowed to grasp the torch that they had held, and hold it high, that light might conquer darkness still.

China's lunar probe, the Chang'e I crashed on to the surface of the moon on Sunday, marking an end to the first lunar mission by the country.

The landing served as a way to pave the way for future missions and gave Chinese scientists a dress rehearsal for planning and executing future missions. In 2011, the country is planning to send a lunar rover to the moon with the Chang'e II probe. The mission will involve a crash landing on to the lunar surface.
The current landing gave an opportunity for the China National Space Administration to get a grip on the entire procedure. Before crash landing, the Chang'e I, named after the Chinese moon Goddess, collected extensive data and mapped the surface of the moon.

China's ambitious space plans include a manned mission to the moon by 2020. The country last year had also managed to complete a space walk, a highly complex maneuver making it one of the few countries with such capabilities.
