Hmmm, Colin Powell likes having illegal immigrants working on his house so much he believes you and me have seen them at our houses ?

With all due respect to your service Mr Powell,you are way off base here , Illegal immigrants will never work on my house , they will never work on one of my family members house , you hiring illegals is possibly Illegal , and the fact that you would hire an Illegal alien to work on your house instead of an out of work American (What ever race he or she is ) is absolutely Disgusting .

Have you even checked around where you live to see if you can find an American to fix your house ?

Or are you just one of those people with money who hire the Cheapest labor you can Get ?

It's so nice of you to help out the economy by hiring illegal Aliens while unemployed Carpenters , plumbers , and Electricians are all looking for work .

work some of us will never get because people like you Hire Illegals before you will hire an American !

WASHINGTON -- Former Secretary of State Colin Powell says illegal immigrants do essential work in the U.S. and he has firsthand knowledge of that -- because they fix his house.

Powell, a moderate Republican, urged his party Sunday to support immigration generally because it is "what's keeping this country's lifeblood moving forward."

In an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press," he said a path to legal status should be offered to illegal immigrants in the U.S. because they "are doing things we need done in this country."

He added: "They're all over my house, doing things whenever I call for repairs, and I'm sure you've seen them at your house. We've got to find a way to bring these people out of the darkness and give them some kind of status."

Powell did not say whether he's hired illegal immigrants directly or they showed up with contractors.

A massive traffic jam in north China that stretches for dozens of miles and hit its 10-day mark on Tuesday stems from road construction in Beijing that won't be finished until the middle of next month, an official said.

Bumper-to-bumper gridlock spanning for 60 miles (100 kilometers) with vehicles moving little more than a half-mile (one kilometer) a day at one point has improved since this weekend, said Zhang Minghai, director of Zhangjiakou city's Traffic Management Bureau general office.

Some drivers have been stuck in the jam for five days, China Central Television reported Tuesday. But Zhang said he wasn't sure when the situation along the Beijing-Zhangjiakou highway would return to normal.
