La Familia cartel in retreat

La Familia Disbanded, I don't think so.

Maybe laying low, but disbanded; No!

Foxnews
The Mexican government vowed Tuesday not to back down in its fight against La Familia drug cartel, despite mysterious banners proclaiming that the brutal gang has dissolved itself.

Lawmakers and drug war experts expressed skepticism about the banners, saying the message could be a ploy to divert the focus of federal security forces away from the cartel, known for beheadings and bold attacks on police and soldiers.

Alejandro Poire, the federal government's security spokesman, "there would be no truce" with La Familia. He did not comment directly on the banners but said La Familia has been weakened since its leader Nazario Moreno was killed in a gunbattle with police last month.

"What is clear is that this criminal organization is weakened and in retreat," Poire said at a news conference.

The banners claiming "La Familia is completely dissolved" appeared Monday on bridges in western Michoacan state, the cartel's stronghold.

Mexico can't control border

Not that border silly, Their southern border.

Mexico does not have a problem with their northern border, that is our problem.

El Paso Times
The Mexican government has no control of its 577-mile border with Guatemala, where arms, drugs and immigrant smugglers appear to have free rein, according to a U.S. diplomatic cable disclosed recently by WikiLeaks.

The document says that Mexico does not have enough resources to patrol the border.

"Limited resources also undermine the effort: while there are 30,000 U.S. CBP officers on the 1,926-mile Mexican/U.S. border, only 125 Mexican immigration officials monitor the 577-mile border with Guatemala," the document states.

"The weakness of the state (Guatemalan government), the pervasive violence, the widespread corruption, and the country's strategic location for drug trafficking are creating a very dangerous cocktail."

The state of lawlessness in Guatemala is such that residents rely on the Zetas instead of police to provide security, the released documents say. The Zetas, who formerly worked for the Gulf cartel, are reported to be making inroads in Chihuahua state.

Gunmen slay former Mexico state governor

Becoming a politician or even being a former one really is not a good idea in Mexico.

(Reuters) - The former governor of the Mexican Pacific coast state of Colima was gunned down in his home on Sunday morning, the latest attack on a politician in the country wracked by drug violence.

Jesus Silverio Cavazos, who left office in November 2009, died of his wounds in a hospital, Colima state prosecutor Arturo Diaz said in an interview on Mexico's Foro TV.

Cavazos' wife was injured in the attack, but additional details were unavailable. Investigators have no motive for the crime, Diaz said.

Gunmen Kill 5, Wound 9 in Ciudad Juarez Bar

More than 4,000 people have been killed in Ciudad Juarez in drug-related violence in the last two years, giving the city one of the highest murder rates in the world.

Good reason to stay away from Mexico.

Better yet it's a good reason for the Government to defend and protect our border !

But you know, it is not seen as an issue. Move along Sheeple.

Foxnews
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico -- Gunmen burst into a bar called "Desesperados" in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and opened fire on Sunday, killing five people and wounding nine others, authorities said.

Assailants also killed the state's prisons director and his son in a second attack in the area, which has turned into a deadly battleground for warring drug cartels.

Gunmen opened fire on the vehicle carrying Chihuahua prison director Gerardo Ortiz and his son in Chihuahua city, the state capital, located south of Ciudad Juarez. The state's prisons used to be the site of frequent battles between gangs, but deaths in such disputes had appeared to decline over the last year.

Mexico hunting 12-year-old drug gang hitman

A Twelve year old !
The Mexican cartels are truly ruthless, $3000 to off somebody ?

The AA (Artist Assassins) are a group of young kids that go around and not only point people out to the Cartels, but they also perform hits.

It's a messed up world.

(Reuters) - Soldiers are hunting a 12-year-old suspected drug gang hitman accused of helping wage a gruesome turf war in central Mexico, a state prosecutor and Mexican media said on Friday.

The boy, known only as "El Ponchis," is believed to be working for the South Pacific cartel in Morelos state, outside Mexico City, and is one of a group of young teenagers who have already committed "terrible acts," Morelos State Prosecutor Pedro Luis Benitez told local radio.

"These minors are still not fully developed and so it is easy to influence them, to give them a gun, pretending it is plastic, that it is a game."

Benitez did not name the boy or give more details, but when asked directly about the teenage hitmen he said: "They're persuaded to carry out terrible acts; they don't realize what they are doing," he added.

Mexican daily La Razon said the boy is being paid $3,000 for each murder and is under the command of a little-known drug lord who heads the South Pacific cartel fighting the Beltran Leyva and La Familia gangs for control in southwestern Mexico.

Benitez said soldiers this week arrested a teenage boy and a pregnant teenage girl also believed to be working for the South Pacific cartel.

Incoming small town Mexico mayor kidnapped, killed

Nice, you cant even be a mayor elect in Mexico.

This is like the 6th or 7th Mayor killed in the past couple months.

(Reuters) - A mayor-elect from the Mexican state of Veracruz was kidnapped and killed along with two companions on Monday, local media reported.

The reports did not link the killings to the violence sweeping Mexico as the government fights powerful drug cartels. Several mayors and other elected officials have been targeted by drug gangs in recent months.

Gregorio Barradas Miravete, the mayor-elect from the municipality of Juan Rodriguez Clara, was a member of President Felipe Calderon's National Action Party.

Mexican hitmen kill 15 in latest massacre

It is just non stop Mayhem in Mexico.

(Reuters) - Suspected drug hitmen shot dead 15 people at a car wash in western Mexico on Wednesday, the third massacre in just a few days, putting new pressure on President Felipe Calderon to stop the growing violence.

The gunmen, in three SUVs, opened fire on staff and customers in the car wash on the outskirts of the city of Tepic in Nayarit state, provoking panic as the victims, all workers at the car wash, collapsed to the ground.

The multiple murder is the third since Friday when gunmen shot and killed 14 people and injured a 9-year-old boy at a party in Ciudad Juarez across from El Paso, Texas. On Sunday, gunmen in Tijuana killed 14 people at a rehabilitation center in the city bordering San Diego, California.

Gunmen kill 13 at birthday party in Mexico

Any time the Cartel does this, their is a reason.

It may not have been the Birthday boy, but it could have been his Father or his Uncle, even his little brother maybe just a friend that was their.

The Cartels do not care who they kill when they are trying to off their target.

(Reuters) - Gunmen sprayed bullets into a family birthday party in the violent Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez, killing 13 people and wounding 20, authorities said on Saturday.

It was the second massacre at a party this month in Ciudad Juarez, which borders El Paso, Texas, and is one of the world's most violent cities as drug cartels battle security forces and each other over smuggling routes into the United States.

"I threw myself down on the floor and then a lot of other people piled on top of me," a young man who survived the shooting late on Friday told Reuters, declining to give his name out of fear of reprisals.

The celebration was for a boy's 15th birthday, he said.

At least four of the people killed at the house party were teenagers and a 9-year-old boy was among the wounded, officials said.

"A group of heavily armed men arrived in two minivans. At least 10 men burst into the party," Carlos Gonzalez, a spokesman for state prosecutors, told the Reforma newspaper.

It was not clear whether the shooting was related to Mexico's drug war, which has killed more than 6,900 people in Ciudad Juarez alone since early 2008.

It is an Unfortunate fact that the teenagers of Mexico are usually hooked up with the "AA" Artist Assassins, They get paid to kill for the cartel.

Gunbattles Erupt in Mexican Cities Across Texas Border, Stirring Panic

Yep , No Problem here, Things are much safer than what everyone is saying !

Move along My Sheeple !

Foxnews
Mexican soldiers battled gunmen in two cities across the border from Texas on Wednesday, prompting panicked parents to pull children from school and factories to warn workers to stay inside. Assailants in a third city threw a grenade at an army barracks.

The U.S. Consulate in Nuevo Laredo warned American citizens to stay indoors. The statement said there were reports of drug gangs blocking at least one intersection near the consulate in the city across from Laredo, Texas.

The local city government and witnesses reported several more blockades — a new tactic that has emerged in northeastern Mexico, where violence has soared this year amid a split between the Gulf and Zetas drug gangs.

Cartel gunmen frequently use stolen cars and buses to form roadblocks during battles with soldiers. Witnesses in Nuevo Laredo said gunmen forced people from their cars to use the vehicles in the blockades.

The State Department has not delivered diplomatic assistance to the widow of a man shot down by drug lords while on a jet ski trip on the U.S.-Mexico border, U.S. Rep. Ted Poe said Wednesday.

Poe, R-Texas, whose district contains the U.S. side of border-straddling Falcon Lake, said Tiffany Hartley did not even receive help from the U.S. consulate in Mexico to file a complaint against members of the Zeta drug cartel that is suspected of shooting David Hartley while the couple was skiing through the Mexican side of the border weeks ago.

"There seems to be inefficiency on this issue. She shouldn't have to be filing charges" on her own, Poe said, noting that the Mexican authorities were slow to help Hartley in part because they said she made no official complaint to the proper authorities.

The State Department has also been "blissfully silent" on efforts to convince the Mexican authorities to let U.S. investigators help search for Hartley's body, Poe told FoxNews.com. The department must convince Mexican officials to let the FBI and U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency investigators help conduct the search for Hartley's body and for the culprits, he said.

World’s first ‘cyber superweapon’ attacks China

Some of that Karma B.S. Again .

China will not say anything much about this attack , it will be "Hushed" in good old Communist Fashion .

It could not have happened to a nicer Country !

Dawn.com
BEIJING: A computer virus dubbed the world’s “first cyber superweapon” by experts and which may have been designed to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities has found a new target – China.

The Stuxnet computer worm has wreaked havoc in China, infecting millions of computers around the country, state media reported this week...

“This malware is specially designed to sabotage plants and damage industrial systems, instead of stealing personal data,” an engineer surnamed Wang at antivirus service provider Rising International Software told the Global Times.

“Once Stuxnet successfully penetrates factory computers in China, those industries may collapse, which would damage China’s national security,” he added.

Security raised after Pakistan Sufi shrine attack

Security may have been raised but it will be impossible for Pakistan to stop the Taliban from pulling off another suicide bombing .

Associated press
KARACHI, Pakistan — The streets of Pakistan's largest city were mostly quiet Friday as police stepped up patrols to prevent more violence after twin suicide attacks at a Sufi shrine sparked angry mobs to rampage through the southern Pakistani city.

Eight people were killed and 65 injured in the bombings Thursday evening at the most beloved Sufi shrine in Karachi. At least two buses were torched by mobs who also fired weapons into the air into the night. A bus also was set on fire Friday on a major road...

After Thursday's attack, condemnations came from across Pakistan, including from President Asif Ali Zardari, who was in Karachi at the time, and from the U.S. Embassy.

"We remain committed to fighting these murderers and expelling them from our land," Zardari aide Farahnaz Ispahani said in an e-mail.

Pakistan Spy Agency Urging Taliban to Fight U.S.

Nothing new here .
Just wondering when the flow of money that goes to Pakistan supposedly to fight the Taliban will stop ?
And when are we going to actually fight the real war instead of playing the game we are playing now ?

Foxnews
Members of Pakistan's spy agency are pressing Taliban field commanders to fight the U.S. and its allies in Afghanistan, U.S. officials and Afghan militants have told The Wall Street Journal, a development that undercuts a key element of the Pentagon's strategy for ending the war.

The explosive accusation is the strongest yet in a series of U.S. criticisms of Pakistan, and shows a deteriorating relationship with an essential ally in the Afghan campaign. The U.S. has provided billions of dollars in military and development aid to Pakistan for its support.

The U.S. and Afghanistan have sought to persuade midlevel Taliban commanders to lay down their weapons in exchange for jobs or cash. The most recent Afghan effort at starting a peace process took place this week in Kabul.

But few Taliban have given up the fight, officials say. Some Taliban commanders and U.S. officials say militant leaders are being pressured by officers from Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency not to surrender.

U.S. officials say they have heard similar reports from captured militants and those negotiating to lay down their arms.

Family in Drive to Save 1960s-Styled Psychedelic Volkswagen

Some die hard hippies .

The 60's are over man , Clean up your mess and take a shower !

Nice flag Hippies!

Foxnews
Hurry fast, flower children, you may not have much time before a psychedelic 1960s Volkswagen
minibus becomes just another relic of the Age of Aquarius.

The Volkswagen -- smothered in psychedelic graffiti and dubbed “The Peace Mobile” -- is parked on the front lawn of the Kaplan-Allen home in The Palisades, a northwest neighborhood in Washington, D.C. Now the vehicle has stirred controversy after receiving critical fire from the local government’s Department of Public Works.

After hearing the department’s plans to remove the vehicle by the end of October for being a safety and health hazard, the Kaplan-Allen family made a grass-roots move appropriate for the situation: They staged a 1960s-style rally on Oct. 3 to protest the government’s decision.
