Tampa, Fla. • Tampa police have arrested an expelled student after thwarting what they deemed a potentially "catastrophic" plot to set off a bomb at his former high school and cause mass casualties on the first day of classes next week, authorities said Wednesday.
Police Chief Jane Castor said Jared Cano, 17, had threatened to plant a bomb at Freedom High School in north Tampa and detonate the device when students return Tuesday.
The suspect was arrested Tuesday night after someone alerted police to the alleged plot.
Castor told a news conference that the alleged bombing plot was planned minute by minute and the intent was to cause more casualties than the 1999 Columbine High School massacre, which resulted in 13 deaths before the two shooters killed themselves.
Castor said police and the school system "were probably able to thwart a potentially catastrophic event, the likes of which the city of Tampa has not seen, and hopefully never will."

Students illegally in California to get increased access to higher education
Whats My Issue ?
Being a current Student myself and a former resident of San Diego, a lot.
For the first few semesters of school I had to pay out of my own pocket, I was not eligible for a student loan or any other financial aid !
it was not till I lost my job and had a significant lower income that I was able to receive a student loan, No Grants, no free ride here, I must pay back my loan !
California Gov Jerry Brown, feels it is necessary to afford Illegal aliens (People who are not even residents in this country) every break possible when it comes to an Education.
While residents (People who are here legally, Born and raised by legal parents) Must still get their education the Hard way, Student loans and out of pocket monies.
If you are not a resident of a State, you pay more in tuition, in some cases if you are not a resident of the same county as the school you pay more in tuition, why the hell should anyone not even a legal resident of this country get a free ride ?
To me that is a little backwards, the spin of fairness is not so fair when you are discriminating against another people, Especially the people who pay the Taxes in this country and the people who pay that Jackass of a Gov Jerry Browns Payroll !
It is sad to see Americans thrown under the bus while America is Handed over to another country that can't even take care of its own !

Undocumented students’ access to higher education increased Monday as Gov. Jerry Brown signed part of the California DREAM Act into legislation.
Brown signed AB130, which allows college students that illegally entered the U.S. to receive privately funded scholarships/financial aid. DREAM is an acronym for Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors.
Bill author Assemblyman Gilbert Cedillo, D-Los Angles, was in attendance at the signing during a DREAM Act Town Hall at Los Angeles City College.
“Public education is the lifeblood of our democracy,” Cedillo said. “Public education in this great state and this great nation is the equalizer of our society.”
The legislation primarily applies to AB540 students who are from out of the state or country, graduated from a California high school and attended it for at least three years.
Brown cited California’s rising population and that 50 percent of babies born in California are born into low-income situations as reasons to invest in more educational opportunities.
“Today, signing this DREAM Act is another piece of investment in people, because people are what drive the culture, the economy, the state and our country,” Brown said.

Two schools blown up in northwest Pakistan
And yet again, more schools sploded up !
Man, the Taliban (or people like them) are really hell bent on keeping the people dumbed down, 500 schools have been reduced to piles of debris.

PESHAWAR: Two government schools were blown up in northwestern Pakistan’s Sherkera and Matni areas, DawnNews reported.
Unknown assailants used explosives and destroyed the two schools in the two areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
It is pertinent to note that over 500 schools have been destroyed in attacks across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

Islamic schools across Britain are reportedly teaching their students how to cut off thieves’ hands and that Jews are plotting to take over the world.
One textbook given to 15-year-old students outlines physical punishments for violating Shariah law, according to BBC.
“For thieves their hands will be cut off for a first offence, and their foot for a subsequent offence,” the book says.
Diagrams are given to teenagers detailing where the amputations should be made, The Telegraph reports.
Investigative TV show “Panorama” on BBC One will reportedly present evidence Wednesday night that the textbooks were uncovered at a network of 40 private schools that teach a Saudi Arabian national curriculum.

With all the crap going on in the United States, someone in power(Harry Reid)thinks it a better idea to help out Non Residents, Rather than put his effort into Helping out those People he supposedly works for.
Better to help another country I guess, than to help your own.

A group advocating for tighter immigration laws estimates that a hotly debated bill that would give tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who attend college or join the military a path to legal status would cost taxpayers $6.2 billion a year and "crowd out" U.S. students in the classroom.
A new report from the Center for Immigration Studies says the so-called DREAM Act, which would give more than 2 million young immigrants brought to the United States before the age of 16 a chance to become legal residents, could erode the educational opportunities available to U.S. citizens.
Wendy Sefsaf, a spokeswoman for the Immigration Policy Center, said CIS has "a very common formula," which factors the costs of anything without the benefits.
Her group cited an estimate by the liberal Center for American Progress that it would cost $48.6 billion to deport more than 2 million illegal immigrants who were raised in the U.S.
"The U.S. economy doesn't need more deportations; it needs more college graduates," she said, citing a Georgetown University report that shows Americans in 2018 will fall short of achieving 22 million new college degrees -- the number some say is needed to stay globally competitive -- by at least 3 million.
As a person who is out of work, and trying to pay His way through college right now, I am DEEPLY offended at the thought that it is better to Give my Tax dollars to an Illegal Immigrant, Before even looking at my Student loan Application.

Indiana School Removes 'Allah' From Holiday Show After Protests

An elementary school in Indiana reportedly removed a mention of Allah in its holiday show after protests from a national conservative Christian group.
Lantern Road Elementary Principal Danielle Thompson told IndyStar.com that school officials in Fishers, Ind., attempted to teach inclusiveness through the second-grade program that included portions on Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Las Posadas and Kwanzaa.
"It went off last night without a hitch," Thompson told the Web site. "Several families thought it was a nice program."
Thompson said officials removed the phrase "Allah is God," however, after the American Family Association complained about the program on its electronic newsletter. The alteration was made because no other deities were named in the program.
Shariq Siddiqui, executive director of the Muslim Alliance of Indiana, told the Web site that the decision to remove the word Allah was most certainly not inclusive.
"It's unfortunate if that was removed from the program just because of Islamophobic feelings," Siddiqui told the Web site. "Schools are a place where we should learn more about each other rather than exclude each other based on stereotypes and misconceptions."
Sorry Siddicqui , Schools are for learning important things like reading , Writing , Math , Science , And basic "Human Being" Skills , Not a place to learn about religion ! you have your Church or Mosque for that !

Militants attack students in Pakistan, 4 killed
The students were apparently attacked because they were minority Shi'ite Muslims. Taliban militants are from the majority Sunni community and attack Shi'ites as part of their strategy to fight the government.
Or did they attack them because they would rather not have anyone learning things in School that might make them Smarter ?

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (Reuters) - Taliban militants attacked a group of high school students on their way to school in northwest Pakistan on Tuesday, killing four of them and wounding three, a government official said.
The students were apparently attacked because they were minority Shi'ite Muslims. Taliban militants are from the majority Sunni community and attack Shi'ites as part of their strategy to fight the government.
"They opened ... fire on the students and we have reports of four deaths," said Khaista Gul, an official in the administration of the Orakzai ethnic Pashtun tribal region, where the attack took place.
Tribesmen retaliated after the attack and the two sides were fighting, said residents of the area near the town of Kalaya.
