Three U.S. Muslims convicted in terrorism case

Yet again Muslims convicted of conspiring to commit acts of terror within the United States and abroad against Americans.

Just three more Muslims in the ever growing list, Nothing to see here, Move along Sheeple, Quit being such an Islamaphobe.

The L.A. Times
A federal jury has convicted three Muslim men from North Carolina of plotting to attack unspecified targets overseas, as well as the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Va., in what prosecutors called a case of "homegrown terrorism."

After two days of deliberations, Omar Aly Hassan, 22, Ziyad Yaghi, 21, and Hysen Sherifi, 24, were convicted Thursday of providing material support for terrorists. Yaghi and Sherifi were also convicted of conspiring to kill, kidnap or maim unspecified people overseas; Hassan was acquitted on the conspiracy charge.

Prosecutors in the three-week trial said the men traveled overseas, raised money and trained with weapons to support a jihadist plot to kill perceived enemies of Islam. Defense lawyers said audio and video recordings played in court did not show the defendants discussing or agreeing to any specific attack.

At issue in the case was the extent to which someone in the U.S. can discuss violent jihad and spread radical propaganda in the post-Sept. 11 era, even while committing no violent acts.

Homegrown Terrorist.

And yet another Homegrown Terrorist asswipe caught again.
And does this guy fit the profile or what.
Ultimately we must be more alert and watch for idiots like this, profile if you will.

Boston.com
An Ashland man who holds a physics degree from Northeastern University was charged yesterday with an Al Qaeda-inspired plot to send a remote-controlled aircraft carrying explosives into the Pentagon and the US Capitol “to kill as many people as possible,’’ according to a complaint filed in federal court.

Rezwan Ferdaus, 26, a US citizen whose only known previous crime was vandalism, told FBI agents working undercover as Al Qaeda members that he wanted to “change the world,’’ according to the complaint.

“I just can’t stop; there is no other choice for me,’’ he told the agents, according to an affidavit written by FBI Special Agent Gary S. Cacace.

“This is what we have to do. This is the righteous way . . . to terrorize enemies of Allah,’’ he said, calling for the deaths of any kafir, the Arabic term for nonbeliever.

Federal officials said that at no point did Ferdaus have sole control of explosive materials, such as C-4, or guns and that he was closely monitored by the FBI during his alleged plotting in the past year. But they also say that he was repeatedly questioned about his plans and that he was committed to carrying out the attacks.

Three Plead Guilty to Conspiracy to Provide Support to Terrorist Group

The assholes keep trying and they keep getting caught.
And many will still deny that Islam is a Religion of hate filled war mongers who are hell bent on killing us.

Why else would terrorists need to be in this country?

The three Pakistani men accused of trying to smuggle someone they thought was part of the Pakistani Taliban into the United States pleaded guilty to charges filed against them in a U.S. District Court Monday.
Irfran Ul Haq, 37, Qasim Ali, 32, and Zahid Yousaf, 43, pleaded guilty to one count each of conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, Taherik-e Taliban Pakistan, at a hearing before U.S. District Judge John Bates in the District of Columbia, according to a statement released by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They each face up to 15 years in prison at a sentencing Dec. 9, and a fine up to $250,000.

Prosecutors say law enforcement agents worked with confidential sources to ask the three to help get someone they were told was a member of the terrorist group into the U.S. early this year. The men were living in Ecuador and are accused of getting the fictitious person a false Pakistani passport.

Report Shows Terror Recruitment in U.S. Still a Problem

Rep Peter King is the Man.
He is taking no shit from anyone about these hearings, he just keeps pushing forward despite the B.S. from the Left and the MSM.

A clueless Rep Bennie Thompson says Shabaab is an issue, he downplays its importance and says other types of terror should be focused on as well.

"The threat of Al Shabaab radicalizing young Americans is a problem we can constructively address," Thompson said in a statement before the hearing. "Today marks the third time that this committee has taken up alleged links between terrorism and the American Muslim community. Before these hearings began, I requested that their focus be broadened to include a look at the real and present threat of domestic violent extremism. Those requests were rebuffed."

If Al Shabab recruits from the U.S. and takes these guys under their wings in Somalia only to return them when their training is done... would that not be a real and present threat of Domestic Violent Extremism ?

Call me Stupid, but I think it is.

Rep. Bennie Thompson, you sir are the Jackass of The Day.

A new report released by Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee shows there's still a threat of Americans being recruited by Somali terror group and Al Qaeda ally Al Shabaab for the purpose of carrying out attacks in the U.S.

Committee chairman Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y. held a hearing Wednesday on Al Shabaab recruiting in America. It was the third in a series of controversial "Muslim radicalization" hearings King has called.

"The key finding is that there is a looming danger of American Shabaab fighters returning to the U.S. to strike or helping Al Qaeda and its affiliates attack the homeland," the report reads. "U.S. intelligence underestimated the Pakistani Taliban and Al Qaeda in Yemen's capability of launching attacks here; we cannot afford to make the same mistake with Shabaab."

The report says at least 40 Americans have joined the terror group and 15 have been killed fighting for them. It also says 21 American Shabaab members are unaccounted for and that they pose a threat to U.S. security.

Many Democrats have bemoaned King's series of radicalization hearings, and while the ranking member of the committee Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., says Shabaab is an issue, he downplays its importance and says other types of terror should be focused on as well.
