PlayStation data theft hits 70m gamers

What a bitch, now you gotta whatch what you do playing videogames.

Don't know if it has anything to do with this, but Anonymous was supposedly attacking Sony for something semi related to Wikileaks! I don't think they get into Identity theft or Credit card theft but who knows, someone within their ranks maybe?

BBC

Sony has warned users of its PlayStation Network that their personal information, including credit card details, may have been stolen.

The company said that the data might have fallen into the hands of an "unauthorised person" following a hacking attack on its online service.

Access to the network was suspended last Wednesday, but Sony has only now revealed details of what happened.

Users are being warned to look out for attempted telephone and e-mail scams.

PlayStation Network down for fifth day, no new update from Sony

Hmmmm, XBOXlive was up all weekend, I did not notice.

PS3 players have had to endure an entire Easter break without the PlayStation Network in the UK, as the service's downtime today stretches to five days across the globe.

Sony's latest official company update on the outage remains its clarification that the network is having to be "rebuilt" in light of an outside attack, which was posted two days ago (April 23) on the official PlayStation Blog in the US.

However, a rep has said in light of that message: "We will announce through our websites as soon as there are any updates. We are currently investigating to determine the cause of this outage and are working to restore and maintain the services. Since this is an overall security related issue, we will not be providing further commentary for this case."

When pressed on the fact that PSPlus subscribers had effectively been paying for no service during this period, SCEA PR Rep Eric Levine also told VGRevolution: "We will let our subscribers know as soon as there are updates."
