Nato sends more troops to Kosovo after border unrest

I don't believe the U.S. will be pulled into this one, it does not fit in with the Obama plan for helping out the Muslim Brotherhood or any other Islamic terrorist group.

Nato is sending hundreds of extra troops to Kosovo amid rising tension in the north along its border with Serbia.

The military alliance said the situation had not deteriorated but that reinforcements were needed to relieve troops currently patrolling the north.

Soldiers from Nato's Kosovo Force were deployed after clashes broke out between Kosovo police and ethnic Serbs.

The trouble began when the Kosovan government sent ethnic Albanian police to enforce a ban on Serbian imports.

A border post was torched and demolished and a Kosovo policeman killed after Serbian nationalists reacted angrily to their presence.

Islam is an Intolerant religion, Muslims can not even tolerate each other.

As for them killing each other off for their differences, I encourage it.

What better way to keep themselves busy, just rampage through the streets and kill whoever speaks differently than you do!

(CNN) -- The death toll from ethnic clashes in the Pakistani city of Karachi this week has reached 88, local police said Saturday.

Naeem Shah, a Karachi police official, reported three deaths on Saturday, adding to the previous death toll of 85 since Tuesday.

The clashes have been blamed on a bitter rivalry between two political parties -- the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Awami National Party.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement mostly represents Urdu-speaking people who migrated to Pakistan from India during partition in 1947, while the Awami National Party represents Pashto speakers, more of whom are moving to Karachi from northwest Pakistan in search of jobs.

800 die in Ivory Coast ethnic violence'

At least 800 people are reported to have been killed in the Ivory Coast city of Duekoue this week, as rival forces continue to battle for power.

International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) staff visited Duekoue and said the scale and brutality of the killings were shocking.

The city was captured by fighters supporting UN-recognised president Alassane Ouattara this week.

His forces have ringed Laurent Gbagbo's troops in the main city, Abidjan.

Mr Ouattara was internationally recognised as president after winning a run-off vote in November, but Mr Gbagbo also claimed victory and refused to leave office.

Riot police are patrolling in Urumqi in China's Xinjiang region on the first anniversary of ethnic riots that claimed the lives of almost 200 people.

The streets are reported to be quieter than usual. Thousands of CCTV cameras have been set up in public places.

A government-run website said that all police leave had been cancelled.

The clashes that erupted on 5 July 2009 between Uighur Muslims and Han Chinese were the region's worst ethnic violence in decades.

The fighting ended after huge numbers of troops were deployed in the remote western region.

After the riots, the government suspended the region's communication links to the rest of the world, including international phone calls, text messaging and the internet.

Kyrgyzstan leader visits Osh after violence

Kyrgyzstan interim leader Roza Otunbayeva has flown to Osh in the south of the country after the worst ethnic violence in two decades.

At least 191 people were killed in fighting between Kyrgyz and ethnic Uzbeks around Osh and Jalalabad.

About 400,000 people have been displaced by the unrest, with many Uzbeks fleeing into Uzbekistan.

The Red Cross (ICRC) has described the situation as an "immense crisis".

A government spokesperson said that Ms Otunbayeva would meet local leaders and visit hospitals during the trip.

"The aim of the visit is to acquaint herself with the situation and take necessary measures," the spokesperson told Reuters.

The unrest comes two months after the country's former president, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, was forced out of office in April.

Ms Otunbayeva's government has blamed the former leader for stoking the conflict.
