YouTube Drops Radical Cleric Awlaki's Videos
Oh how nice, YouTube finally does something good !
American and British officials had been pressuring the Google-owned company to take down the videos, fearing that Awlaki's Internet preaching would radicalize Muslims.

Popular video-sharing site YouTube has removed videos featuring calls to holy war by an Al Qaeda-linked Muslim cleric after pressure from British and U.S. officials.
YouTube spokeswoman Victoria Grand said the videos by Anwar al-Awlaki violated the site's guidelines prohibiting "incitement to commit violent acts," The New York Times reported Wednesday.

Extremist websites skyrocketing, says Interpol
Anyone who has been paying any attention , has known this for years .
It is just amazing that Interpol has waited so long to come out with the News themselves .

The sharp growth in extremist websites is making recruitment much easier for al-Qaeda, according to Interpol head Ronald Noble.
"The threat is global, it is virtual and it is on our doorsteps," he said.
Mr Noble told a conference of police chiefs in Paris there were 12 sites in 1998 and 4,500 by 2006.
He said tackling radicalisation had been made far harder by the internet because many of the activities involved were not criminal.

Increasingly, he said, the individuals targeted were young and vulnerable and from middle-class backgrounds.

'JihadJane' Pleads Not Guilty to Terror Charges
Like no one saw this coming !
Of course she was going to plead not guilty , how else is she going to get to run her mouth in a courtroom ?

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia-area woman authorities say dubbed herself "Jihad Jane" online pleaded not guilty Thursday in federal court to a four-count indictment charging her in an overseas terrorist plot.
Colleen LaRose, 46, of Pennsburg, appeared in court wearing a green jumpsuit and corn rows in her blond hair. A May 3 trial date was set.
She was accused of conspiring with jihadist fighters and pledging to commit murder in the name of a Muslim holy war. Authorities say she wanted to kill a Swedish artist who had offended Muslims.
Authorities say she grew acquainted online with violent co-conspirators from around the world. They say she posted a YouTube video in 2008 saying she was "desperate to do something" to ease the suffering of Muslims.
She was arrested in October 2009 in Philadelphia while returning to the United States.
LaRose spent most of her life in Texas, where she dropped out of high school, married at 16 and again at 24, and racked up a few minor arrests, records show.
After a second divorce, she followed a boyfriend to Pennsylvania in about 2004 and began caring for his father while he worked long hours, sometimes on the road. In 2005, she swallowed a handful of pills in a failed suicide attempt, telling police she was upset over the death of her father -- but did not want to die.
As she moved through her 40s without a job or any outside hobbies, her boyfriend said, she started spending more time online.
Though her boyfriend, Kurt Gorman, did not consider her religious, and she apparently never joined a mosque, LaRose had by 2008 declared herself "desperate" to help suffering Muslims in the YouTube video.
"In my view, she sort of slipped sideways into Islam. ... There may have been some seduction into it, by one or more people," said Temple University psychologist Frank Farley.

A suburban Pennsylvania woman known by the alias "Jihad Jane" has been arrested and charged with trying to recruit Islamic fighters and for plotting to assassinate a Swedish cartoonist who made fun of the Prophet Mohammed, according to a federal indictment unsealed today.
Colleen R. LaRose, 46, of Montgomery, Pa., described by neighbors as an average "housewife," is better known to federal authorities as "Fatima Rose" or "Jihad Jane."
The indictment, obtained by ABC News, charges LaRose with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and conspiracy to kill in a foreign country.
She is also accused of making false statements to a government official and of attempted identity theft, a passport she allegedly stole with the intention of giving to an Islamic fighter. The court papers claim that LaRose reached out through the Internet to jihadist groups saying she was "desperate to do something to help" suffering Muslim people, and that she desired to become a martyr.
She stated in her e-mails "that her physical appearance would allow her to 'blend in with many people' which 'may be a way to achieve what is in my heart,'" the indictment states.
She could even blend in with dogs and Goats
In her e-mails with five unindicted co-conspirators in South Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, LaRose allegedly agreed to recruit men -- and to recruit women -- for jihad, to raise money for Islamic fighters, and agreed on the Internet to one jihadist's request to "marry me to get me inside Europe."
In March 2009, the indictment states, she allegedly received a directive to "got to sweden... find location of [Resident of Sweden]... and kill him... this is what i say to u."
Federal officials identified the target as Lars Vilks, who had drawn Prophet Muhammed with the body of a dog.
LaRose replied, "I will make this my goal till I achieve it or die trying," according to court documents.
She traveled, according to the indictment, on or around Aug. 29, 2009 to Europe "with the intent to live and train with jihadists" and to "find and kill" Vilks. In September, she joined an online community hosted by Vilks and eventually moved into Vilks' artist enclave in Sweden.
