Pakistan Taliban leader reported dead in U.S. strike

Hakimullah Mehsud may be dead! Maybe not dead?

We can only hope, we have heard of his death before and been wrong about it too!

But due to the fact that the drone strikes have been on a hiatus for a few months and the fact that the administration had said that they would still have a strike if the right piece of shit popped up!

Hakimullah is a big POS!

USA Today
Intercepted militant radio communications indicate the leader of the Pakistani Taliban may have been killed in a recent U.S. drone strike, Pakistani intelligence officials said Sunday. A Taliban official denied that.

The report coincided with sectarian violence — a bomb blast in eastern Pakistan that killed 14 people in a Shiite religious procession.
The claim that the Pakistani Taliban chief was killed came from officials who said they intercepted a number of Taliban radio conversations. In about a half a dozen intercepts, the militants discussed whether their chief, Hakimullah Mehsud, was killed on Jan. 12 in the North Waziristan tribal area. Some militants confirmed Mehsud was dead, and one criticized others for talking about the issue over the radio.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to reporters.
Pakistani Taliban spokesman Asimullah Mehsud denied the group's leader was killed and said he was not in the area where the drone strike occurred.

US missiles kill up to 18 Pakistani Taliban

Hell Yeah, that's the way to do that.

Maybe next time the record can be broken for the deadliest missile strike.(21)

AFP
A major salvo of US missiles on Wednesday destroyed a Pakistani Taliban base on the Afghan border, killing up to 18 militants including possible Al-Qaeda fighters, local officials said.
Five US drones fired up to 10 missiles into a sprawling compound in the Baber Ghar area of South Waziristan, killing 15 to 18 fighters in the deadliest such American strike in three months, the Pakistani officials said...

An official in Wana, the main town of South Waziristan, confirmed that a base of Pakistan's umbrella Taliban faction, Tehreek-e-Taliban, was destroyed and said there were reports that "some foreigners" were also killed...

Wednesday's strike was the 63rd so far this year, according to an AFP tally.

U.S. Missile Kills Haqqani 'Coordinator' in Pakistan

Excellent, killing these meatbags with hellfire missiles inside Pakistan is just icing on the cake, Pakistanis get their panties in a bunch when we take out their beloved terrorist scumbags.

I say to bad, if the Pakistani people would take out their little terrorist bitches on their own, we would not get a chance to, Problem solved.

Foxnews
An American missile strike killed a ranking member of the militant Haqqani network on Thursday in northwestern Pakistan, striking at a group that Washington claims is the No. 1 threat in Afghanistan and is supported by Pakistani security forces, local intelligence officials said.
Two other militants were killed in the attack close in the Haqqani stronghold of North Waziristan, the group's main sanctuary along the Afghan border, said the Pakistani officials in the region. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

They identified the Haqqani member as Jalil and said he was a "coordinator" for the group. The men were walking down a street when the drone-fired missile hit, the officials said. One said Jalil was related to Sirajuddin Haqqani, the leader of the network.
The missiles hit close to Dande Darpa Khel village, which is home to a large seminary with links to the Haqqanis.

US Building Secret Drone Bases in Africa, Arabian Peninsula

Why not, its not like Al Qaida and its rejects want to come here and kill us if they could.

Predators are a great deterrent and an equalizer in the fight against terrorism, when they fly around a suspected terrorist camp or hold up, the sound of the engine keeps these halfwits from sleeping very well, and the thought of being taken out with a hellfire enema at any given moment has to do wonders for their stress and anxiety levels.

VOA
The United States is reported to be expanding a secret drone program in east Africa and the Arabian peninsula in order to gather intelligence and strike al-Qaida-linked militants in Somalia and Yemen.

Citing U.S. defense officials, The Washington Post reported that the U.S. is building a new military installation to host the unmanned aircraft in Ethiopia, where drones can more easily attack members of the militant group al-Shabab that is fighting for control of neighboring Somalia.

The report also said the U.S. has re-opened a drone base in the Seychelles, an island nation in the Indian Ocean, where a small fleet of "hunter-killer" drones resumed operations this month after a test mission determined that aircraft based there could patrol Somalia.

In addition, the report said the Central Intelligence Agency is building a secret airstrip somehwere in the Arabian subcontinent in order to carry out drone missions against al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula. U.S. officials say the group, based in Yemen, is al-Qaida's most active branch, and is responsible for several attempted attacks on U.S. targets.

The U.S. is reported to have already flown drones over Somalia and Yemen from installations in Djibouti

Pakistan troops battle Taliban for US drone debris

A drone retrieval mission.
The Pakistani Military went in to get the wreckage, and Taliban were killed; Hopefully the drone was retrieved, its not like the Taliban would know what to do with the wreckage its not a little boy or a goat !

Associated Press
Pakistani soldiers battled Taliban militants to seize precious debris from a suspected U.S. drone that crashed in a rugged tribal area near the Afghan border, Pakistani intelligence officials said Sunday.
The unmanned aircraft crashed Saturday night near Jangara village in the South Waziristan tribal area, said the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media. The village is located near the border with North Waziristan.
The officials said they learned of the crash by intercepting Taliban radio communications but don't know what caused it. Both North and South Waziristan are home to many Taliban fighters, though it is unclear whether they shot down the aircraft or if it crashed because of technical problems.
The debris was first seized by the Taliban. Several hours after the crash, the Pakistani army sent soldiers in to wrest it out of militant hands, sparking a fight with the Taliban in which three militants were killed, said the officials. Three militants and two soldiers were also wounded in the clash, they said.
Nawab Khan, a government official in South Waziristan, confirmed the drone crash and the subsequent clash between militants and army troops. But he did not know whether the army had successfully seized the debris.

Key Al-Qaida Operative Killed

After a long week of work and school, what awesome news to wake up to today.
Al Qaidas newest number one has been exterminated by way of Predator Drone, it is only fitting for the POS.

So now I'm sure that Ayman Zawahiri will be the #1 guy again for a bit, if we can only now focus on giving him a nice well deserved Hellfire Enema as well.

NPR

U.S. officials say that a CIA drone strike Aug. 22 killed al-Qaida's freshly minted second-in-command. Atiyah al-Rahman was a Libyan who was a key Osama bin Laden associate for decades.

Al-Rahman was killed in Waziristan, Pakistan, officials say, and they seem fairly confident they got their man. There are often reports about drone strikes against core al-Qaida leaders, but the terrorists end up surfacing later. That has happened in al-Rahman's case too, but this time U.S. officials seemed to be pretty sure. They wouldn't say whether they had DNA evidence that last week's attack actually killed him.

Al-Rahman isn't a household name, but he was a key al-Qaida operator. He has been at bin Laden's side since he was a teenager. He fought against the Soviets in Afghanistan. After the death of bin Laden in May, Ayman al-Zawahiri became the group's number one man, and al-Rahman emerged as his deputy.

Officials say al-Rahman figured prominently in the trove of documents Navy SEALs found in the bin Laden compound in Pakistan in May. The documents indicated that al-Rahman was the man bin Laden relied on to get messages to other al-Qaida leaders, and al-Rahman also acted as liaison with other al-Qaida affiliates.

Drones Deliver A Hellfire Enema To Seven Taliban.

The best way to kill terrorists.

Dawn.com

A US drone strike in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal belt along the Afghan border on Wednesday killed at least seven fighters of the militant Haqqani network, local security officials said.

A US drone fired two missiles, destroying a vehicle and a compound near Miramshah, the main town in North Waziristan tribal district. Three other militants were wounded in the strike, the officials said.

“At least seven militants were killed in the drone strike. All of them were Haqqani’s men,” a Pakistani security official in Miramshah told AFP.

U.S. Drone Strike Kills 21 Afghan Militants in Pakistan

Pakistani officials said a US drone fired two missiles, destroying a vehicle and a compound in North Waziristan, the headquarters of the Haqqani leadership and the most infamous militant bastion in the tribal belt.

"More dead bodies have been dug out of the debris. Twenty-one militants from the Haqqani group were killed and three were injured," a Pakistani security official said.

Drone Update!

America, F**k yeah !

Good excuse for a BBQ !

Dawn.com

MIRAMSHAH: A volley of US missile strikes killed at least 25 militants after destroying their compounds in Pakistan’s tribal areas on the Afghan border.

Twin drone attacks hit militant strongholds in North and South Waziristan 12 hours apart, as the United States announced it was suspending more than a third of its annual military aid to Pakistan, bringing relations to a new low.

Early Tuesday, a US drone fired two missiles at a compound in South Waziristan’s Bushnarai area, a senior security official told AFP.

Several missile strikes have recently targeted hideouts in the area, considered a stronghold of Pakistani Taliban commander Mullah Nazir, he said.

Late Monday, at least 12 militants were killed when US drones fired four missiles on a compound and a vehicle in the Gorwaik area of Dattakhel town, in North Waziristan. Reports of up to 16 militants killed could not be confirmed.

“In last night’s drone strike, at least 12 militants were killed and six others were wounded, and in today’s strike the death toll has risen to 13. Two were wounded,” a security official told AFP Tuesday.

Intelligence officials in Miramshah, the capital of North Waziristan, said foreigners were among those killed in the second attack.

Pakistani officials use the term “foreigners” for Al Qaeda-linked Arab, Central Asians and other non-Pakistani fighters.

US Drone Attack Kills 6 in NW Pakistan

Nothing like starting a Monday off right.

AOL
Pakistani officials say U.S. drones fired missiles Monday at a vehicle and a house in the northwest tribal district of Kurram near the Afghan border, killing at least six suspected militants.

U.S. drone strikes routinely target militants holed up in Pakistan's tribal belt, but the operations are normally concentrated on insurgent strongholds in Waziristan, rather than Kurram.

Earlier Monday, officials in northwest Pakistan said dozens of militants attacked the homes of two anti-Taliban tribal elders, killing at least four people and wounding several others.

Authorities say nearly 70 militants participated in the attack on the homes of Malik Ghazi and Malik Gula in the Mohmand tribal area near Afghanistan. Ghazi was wounded in the attack.

U.S. Steps Up Covert Strikes in Yemen

Nice to see we are going after Al Qaida in Yemen, this is the biggest cesspool around and is ripe for the pickens.
Anwar "Al lacky" should be toast soon.

Foxnews
WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration has intensified the covert U.S. war in Yemen, hitting militant suspects with armed drones and fighter jets, The New York Times reported late Wednesday.

The accelerated campaign has occurred in recent weeks as violent conflict in Yemen has left the government in Sanaa struggling to cling to power, the Times said.

The report, posted on the newspaper's website, said Yemeni troops that had been battling militants linked to Al Qaeda in the south have been pulled back to the capital. American officials hope the strikes will help prevent militants from consolidating power.

A drone strike by U.S. special operations forces on May 5 targeted U.S.-born Al Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, but a malfunction caused rockets to miss him by a matter of minutes, two U.S. officials told The Associated Press. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters.

The recent operations come after a nearly yearlong pause in American airstrikes, which were halted amid concerns that poor intelligence had led to bungled missions and civilian deaths that were undercutting the goals of the secret campaign.

Pakistan minister: very likely al Qaeda's Kashmiri is dead

And that predator drone strike the other day, they are saying it did kill the top Al Qaida goat raper. The normal denial and crap is going on but the Jawa report confirms it better than any other news site could ever want too.
It is nice to know that we will disregard Pakistans wishes of halting all predator drone strikes.

(Reuters) - Pakistan's interior minister said on Sunday that he was "98 percent sure" senior al Qaeda operative Ilyas Kashmiri was killed in a U.S. drone strike near the Afghan border.

U.S. officials in Washington were skeptical over reports that Kashmiri, seen as one of the world's most dangerous militants, was dead.

A U.S. National Security official said he could not confirm that he had been killed and another U.S. official said it was doubtful.

"All ground intelligence shows that he is dead. What I can say is there is a 98 percent chance he is dead," Interior Minister Rehman Malik told Reuters.

"Since we do not have the body. We do not have DNA we need to confirm. This is the substantive evidence we are looking for."

That may not be possible since it is very difficult for Pakistani security forces to get to areas like South Waziristan where intelligence officials said Kashmiri was killed in a drone strike on Friday night.

After missile strikes by remotely-operated drone aircraft, militants often seal off the area then bury their comrades.

Pakistan condemns Bin Laden raid and US drone attacks

Most of us would love to see ties between Pakistan and the U.S. severed, Especially when it comes to aid!

Pakistan has never really been on our side in any of this'

They have never liked or approved the drones, so while we are still in Afghanistan, we can continue with those.

They appear to love the Taliban more than ever so I say let em have em, see how things are in a year of the Taliban still bombing and killing civilians all the time.

BBC
Pakistan's parliament has called for a review of the country's relationship with the US over the American commando raid that killed Osama Bin Laden.

During a long joint session held to debate the US operation, MPs called for an independent investigation.

They unanimously passed a resolution urging a ban on Nato transit convoys unless the US ends drone attacks.

The session followed Friday's double suicide bombing that killed 80 people in north-western Pakistan.

US drone strike kills seven in N. Waziristan

More drone strikes please!

Dawn.com
“A US drone fired two missiles on a militants’ vehicle in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan,” one Pakistani security official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

“Seven militants were killed,” the official added. Another local official confirmed the strike and the toll, saying: “The target was a pick-up van.”Intelligence reports from the area, which were not confirmed by more senior officials, put the death toll as high as eight and said the dead included “foreigners” – a euphemism for Afghan Taliban, Uzbek militants or al Qaeda.

On Tuesday, a similar strike killed four militants near Angoor Adda village in the neighbouring district of South Waziristan and last Friday eight suspected militants were reported killed by US missiles in North Waziristan.

Yemen al-Qaeda head Anwar al-Awlaki 'targeted by drone'

A swing and a Miss!

To bad, it would be a very awesome if we could take out the rest of the Al Qaida leaders with drones.
yes it would be nice to capture them and bring them to trial, but we would never be able to enjoy justice that way.
The current Administration would pamper them in every way possible, it just would not be good.
So drones it is, think of how that would make the Muslim world feel then, if Al Qaida were never able to do anything again and we whacked em all withe some hellfire missiles.

BBC

A US drone attack in Yemen targeted but failed to kill one of al-Qaeda's most influential figures, US reports say.

The US-born radical Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Awlaki is head of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

Two brothers believed to be mid-ranking al-Qaeda officials died in a drone strike in south Yemen on Thursday, Yemeni officials said.

The attack came just days after al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan by US Navy Seals.

The Pentagon refused to comment on the reports that Anwar al-Awlaki was specifically targeted in Yemen.

According to Yemen's defence ministry, the missile fired by the drone hit a car in in the province of Shabwa carrying two brothers, identified by Yemeni officials as Musa'id and Abdullah Mubarak.

But reports from Washington now suggest US commanders had believed they had one of al-Qaeda's most valuable targets in their sights.

"We were hoping it was him," one unnamed US official told CBS News.

The reported attempt to kill Mr Awlaki is believed to be the first known US military strike within Yemen since May 2010, when missiles mistakenly killed one of Mr Saleh's envoys.

Sorry Yemen Al Qaida dudes, Due to the recent death of Osama Bin Laden there will be no more Virgins For any of you, or any one after you!

You will have to continue to be satisfied with pleasuring yourselves and each other!

Middle east online
ADEN - A US drone attacked a Saudi Al-Qaeda leader in southern Yemen on Thursday, but missed and killed two local Al-Qaeda members, a security source said.

The drone had targeted the Saudi as he drove to the home of local Al-Qaeda men, the source said, asking not to be identified. When the two local Qaeda men rushed out in their own car, they were hit and killed by the drone.

The defence ministry confirmed the killing of two brothers, Abdullah and Mubarak al-Harad, but did not elaborate on the circumstances of their deaths.

Witnesses said they saw a missile fired by an aircraft hit the two brothers in the province of Shabwa, where Al-Qaeda is well entrenched. The men died instantly.

A third person was wounded in the attack in the town of Nissab, the witnesses added

US confirms first Predator strike in Libya

That did not take long, Predator drones going to Libya was just announced yesterday.
No details, and that is probably how this will go the whole time...No Details.

BBC
The US military has confirmed the first strike by an unmanned Predator drone aircraft in Libya.

The Pentagon did not provide details of the target, but said that it occurred in the early afternoon local time.

Drones can hit military targets more easily in urban areas, minimising the risk of civilian casualties.

Earlier, Libya's government warned that tribes loyal to Col Muammar Gaddafi might take over the fight against the rebels in the western city of Misrata.

Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Kaim said the Libyan army was being withdrawn and suggested that the tribes would not show the same level of restraint over civilian casualties.

US drone raid 'kills 25' in N Waziristan

Supposedly 9 civilians were killed.
Anymore I look at it as guilt by association, the way that these people work women and children are just as capable of committing acts of terrorism right along with any of the Taliban!

Possibly some High Value Targets?

BBC
At least 25 people have been killed in a US drone strike in the troubled Pakistani tribal region of North Waziristan, officials told the BBC.

Missiles were fired on a large compound in the town of Spinwam, but five women and four children in a nearby house were also killed.

The area is a haven for al-Qaeda and Taliban militants.

Meanwhile, at least 13 soldiers died when hundreds of insurgents attacked a checkpoint near the Afghan border.

Pakistani security officials told the BBC that Afghan militants had crossed the border and stormed the army post in the Lower Dir area.

Security forces temporarily abandoned the post but now, residents say, they are back in control and have placed the entire area under curfew.

Libya: US to deploy armed drones

A small contribution, They feel that Gadaffys troops are dispersing ahead of the Airstrikes, running and hiding every time they hear the jets.

This is definitely gonna be a drawn out affair.

BBC
Armed US Predator drones are to carry out missions over Libya, Defence Secretary Robert Gates has said.

Mr Gates said their use had been authorised by President Barack Obama and would give "precision capability" to the military operation.

Unmanned US drones are already used to target militants along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Libyan rebels have been battling Col Gaddafi's troops since February but have recently made little headway.

"President Obama has said that where we have some unique capabilities, he is willing to use those," Mr Gates told a news conference.

He said two Predators were being made available to Nato as needed, and marked a "modest contribution" to the military operations.
