North Korea begins extracting plutonium

Here we go again , North Korea is playing their little game Of B.S with the U.S And everyone involved in Talks with them ( Mainly the U.S ) , As usual they will hope to get some Major concessions out of The whole ordeal .
This will go on as it always does , The world powers will give a little , North Korea will stop again , A couple of weeks maybe months will go by And it will all start again !
Some day maybe we will have a President who will tell these jackass's to stick it where the sun don't shine , And really mean it !

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea has started to extract plutonium from spent fuel rods at its nuclear arms plant, its foreign ministry said on Saturday, further raising regional tensions already stoked by its defiant rocket launch this month.

The announcement came hours after a U.N. Security Council committee on Friday placed three North Korean companies on a U.N. blacklist for aiding Pyongyang's missile and nuclear programs, eliciting a sharp rebuke from a North Korean envoy.

Reclusive North Korea has lashed out at being punished for the April 5 launch, widely seen as a disguised long-range missile test that violated U.N. resolutions, saying it would boycott six-way nuclear talks and bolster its nuclear deterrent.

"The reprocessing of spent fuel rods from the pilot atomic power plant began as declared in the Foreign Ministry statement dated April 14," North Korea's official news agency KCNA quoted a foreign ministry spokesman as saying.

"This will contribute to bolstering the nuclear deterrence for self-defense in every way to cope with the increasing military threats from the hostile forces," it said.

Canada chides U.S. for remarks on 9/11 plotters

It appears to be getting harder for Janet Napolitano , to keep her foot out of her mouth ! I say she fits right in with the Obama Administration , Which has an uncanny resemblance to the Clinton Administration , When it comes to running their Mouths !

OTTAWA (Reuters) - The Canadian government moved on Tuesday to correct U.S. homeland security chief Janet Napolitano after she wrongly said some of the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks had crossed into the United States from Canada.

Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan -- who met with Napolitano in March -- said his aides had contacted her office on Tuesday after she made the remarks to the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.

"She was well aware at that time (in March) and understood clearly that none of the 9/11 terrorists came across the Canadian border into the United States ... We confirmed with her office this morning that she continues to be well aware of that," Van Loan told reporters.

Napolitano raised concerns in Canada with remarks indicating she wants to clamp down on border security, which businesses fear could throttle vital trade flows.

She told the CBC on Monday that "to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it's been across the Canadian border".

Asked if she was referring to the 9/11 plotters, she replied: "Not just those but others as well."

Van Loan said Napolitano had been speaking about Algerian-born Ahmed Ressam, who was arrested in December 1999 as he crossed into the United States from Canada with a car carrying explosives.

Ressam was sentenced to 22 years in jail in July 2005 for plotting to set off a bomb at Los Angeles airport on December 31, 1999.

Ahmadinejad prompts walkout from U.N. racism summit

Really now , and what did everyone Expect ?  Ahmadinejad  has done this before , If givin the chance , He will do it again ! To be so Racist at a gathering of the U.N. who's sole purpose was to Discuss defeating racism , shows how Dillusional  , the Iranian Pres. Is !
I would like to Know what countries sat in their seats , Not protesting what was said !

GENEVA (Reuters) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad prompted a rare walk-out at the United Nations on Monday when he called Israel a "cruel and repressive racist regime" in his remarks to a conference on race.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon deplored the address which prompted dozens of delegates to leave their seats, further undermining the summit which some Western powers including the United States are boycotting.

"It was a very troubling experience for me as secretary-general," he told a news conference at the day's end. "I have not seen, experienced, this kind of disruptive proceedings of the assembly, the conference, by any one member state. It was a totally unacceptable situation."

Washington announced on Saturday it would sit out the Geneva forum on fears it would be dominated by unfair criticism against Israel. Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands then followed suit.

Their boycott left Ahmadinejad, who has in the past cast doubt on the Nazi Holocaust, in the spotlight as the only head of state at the conference.

His speech produced exactly the kind of language that they feared, which had also caused Canada and Israel to announce months ago they would stay away.

"Following World War Two they resorted to military aggressions to make an entire nation homeless under the pretext of Jewish suffering," Ahmadinejad told the conference, on the day that Jewish communities commemorate the Holocaust.

"And they sent migrants from Europe, the United States and other parts of the world in order to establish a totally racist government in the occupied Palestine," he said, according to the official translation.

"And in fact, in compensation for the dire consequences of racism in Europe, they helped bring to power the most cruel and repressive racist regime in Palestine."

North Korea orders U.N. inspectors out

North Korea said in a statement the U.N. action and separate six-country nuclear talks were an infringement of its sovereignty and it "will never participate in the talks any longer nor ... be bound to any agreement."

The statement, carried by the official KCNA news agency, said North Korea would "bolster its nuclear deterrent for self-defense in every way."

Well , If that is the way they feel then Fine ! let them have their way ! But stop talking to them ,stop sending them aid , make sure they don't export any goods , Impose the most stringent of sanctions against them, and the next time they prepare a missile , Blow the Damn thing up on the Pad !!!

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea ordered U.N. inspectors to leave on Tuesday after saying it would quit international nuclear disarmament talks and restart a plant that makes bomb-grade plutonium, the United Nations said.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton strongly criticized the expulsions and said she hoped the United States and its allies could discuss it with the North.

"We are viewing this as an unnecessary response to the legitimate statement put out of concern by the Security Council," Clinton told reporters in Washington.

The U.N. Security Council on Monday unanimously condemned North Korea's rocket launch on April 5 as contravening a U.N. ban and demanded enforcement of existing sanctions.

Pakistani Taliban begin imposing rule in new area

As I said before , once the Taliban get their way in Swat , they will spread out even farther !  They will not be able to control themselves , when they can see someone not following Sharia law, right across the street !   It is One of the main goals of Islam , they will not stop until they have subjugated , Dominated , Destroyed , And Killed everything and everyone that they deem Un Islamic ! This has been Cross posted from Report on Arrakis

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistani Taliban are imposing their rule in a Pakistani mountain valley they took over last week, spreading fear in the area only 100 km (60 miles) from the capital, police and residents said on Monday.

Surging militant violence across Pakistan and the spread of Taliban influence through the northwest are reviving concerns about the stability of the nuclear-armed U.S. ally.

Pakistan is crucial to U.S. efforts to stabilize neighboring Afghanistan but the government has been unable to check militant attacks in its cities let alone stop insurgents crossing into Afghanistan from border strongholds to battle Western forces.

Clashes erupted in Buner district last week after scores of Taliban moved in unopposed from the neighboring Swat valley, where authorities struck a deal with Islamists in February to enforce Islamic law in a bid to end violence.

"They are everywhere," Arsala Khan, a deputy superintendent of police, told Reuters by telephone from Buner.

"They are visiting mosques, they are visiting bazaars asking people to help them in enforcing sharia," he said.

"Buner is fast turning into Swat."

U.N. draft demands enforcement of North Korea sanctions

Yippie , the U.N. is going to give North Korea a smack on the hand !  that will show em !

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Six world powers agreed to a draft U.N. Security Council statement on Saturday that condemns North Korea's rocket launch and calls for enforcement of U.N. sanctions imposed against Pyongyang.

The 15-nation council met briefly to receive copies of the U.S.-drafted statement, agreement on which was hammered out in a two-hour meeting between the ambassadors of the United States, Japan, China, Britain, France and Russia.

With the five permanent council members and Japan backing the statement, diplomats said its formal adoption by the full council at a further meeting called for Monday afternoon was virtually assured.

"The Security Council condemns the 5 April 2009 launch by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), which is in contravention of Security Council resolution 1718," the statement said.

The draft also calls for the U.N. Sanctions Committee to begin enforcing financial sanctions and an arms embargo laid down in an existing council resolution.

North Korean leader Kim anoints new No. 2

An Economic analyst ?  Uh , he wont be needing any of that Knowledge when he Takes over !

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-il put to rest this week any doubt about whom he sees as his second in command when he elevated his brother-in-law Jang Song-taek to a powerful military post, analysts said on Friday.

Kim, 67, was re-elected to his leadership post at parliament on Thursday but questions about his health, raised by a suspected stroke in August, remained. He cut a gaunt figure at the session and, his hair thinned and graying, walked with a limp onto stage.

By elevating the energetic and urbane Jang, 63, to the North's seat of power called the National Defence Commission, Kim has set him up as a kingmaker, analysts said.

Jang, an economic specialist considered pragmatic and worldly, is seen as the most likely choice to take over should Kim suddenly pass away. He could also mentor one of Kim's three known sons if he decides to groom them for succession.

Scramble to find the Easter bomb factory

yep ! no more Global war on Terror here folk's , Just some disgruntled illegal Pakistani "Students" From the NWFP !  here to get schooling and to learn how to make bombs to help kill and defeat the Infidel's !

Timesonline

A desperate search was under way last night for the terrorist bomb factory from which a suspected al-Qaeda cell planned to launch a devastating attack in Manchester.

Hours after Britain’s most senior counter-terrorism officer resigned in disgrace, police operations were concentrating on a rundown block of flats east of Liverpool city centre.

The block was cordoned off and large quantities of material were seized for examination. People were evacuated from the area around the flats, which had been rented out by a private landlord to foreign students.

A dozen men are being questioned after raids that had to be rushed forward after Assistant Commissioner Bob Quick, the country’s most senior anti-terrorism officer, inadvertently disclosed details of the police plans.

Ten of the 12 men arrested on Wednesday were Pakistani nationals who entered Britain on student visas.

All were from the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan, the heartland of al-Qaeda and mujahidin activity. They appear to have exploited a visa regime described by a minister last month as “the major loophole in Britain’s border controls”.

Security sources are alarmed that terrorists may have exploited weaknesses in the vetting of student visa applicants to plant sleeper cells here.

U.S. to take part regularly in 7-party talks involving Iran

This could be a smart move on the Obama administration's part ?  But Knowing how Ahmadinejad
likes to act like a big boy , Prepare to be subject to an awful lot of rhetoric , and general B.S ,coming out of Imalittlemonkie , I can here his speeches now "BLAH , BLAH , BLAH ,nuclear weapons ! blah , blah , I mean peaceful Nuclear weapons , Dooohhhh ! I mean peaceful Nuclear energy !!

the L.A.Times
Reporting from Washington -- The Obama administration said Wednesday that it will for the first time become a regular participant in group negotiations aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear ambitions, another signal of its eagerness for talks with the Islamic Republic.

In contrast with the Bush administration, which joined in the sessions only once, the Obama administration will participate with five other world powers and Iran "from now on," said Robert A. Wood, the chief State Department spokesman.

And he did not rule out one-on-one talks with Tehran, saying "it's a little early to talk about that right now."

Aside from Iran, the participants would be United Nations Security Council permanent members China, Russia, Britain, France and the United States, and also Germany.

Cyberspies penetrate electrical grid:

Many people don't see it the way I do , This is a war ! China for years now have actively pursued a cyberwar , with the United States !  ,  I feel that the U.S. is failing the test of Cyber security and very soon could be Damaged by these Idiots , if nothing is done !
Not being the smartest cookie in the bunch , it makes sense to me to play along !  Maybe our best and brightest Should return the favor of Infecting our system ?  we are better at doing things better in the first place ! my favorite would be to rip their underwater internet cables right off the ocean floor ( on accident of course )

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Cyberspies have penetrated the U.S. electrical grid and left behind software programs that could be used to disrupt the system, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

The spies came from China, Russia and other countries, and were believed to be on a mission to navigate the U.S. electrical system and its controls, the newspaper said, citing current and former U.S. national security officials.

The intruders have not sought to damage the power grid or other key infrastructure but officials said they could try during a crisis or war, the paper said in a report on its website.

"The Chinese have attempted to map our infrastructure, such as the electrical grid," a senior intelligence official told the Journal. "So have the Russians."

The espionage appeared pervasive across the United States and does not target a particular company or region, said a former Department of Homeland Security official.

"There are intrusions, and they are growing," the former official told the paper, referring to electrical systems. "There were a lot last year."

The administration of U.S. President Barack Obama was not immediately available for comment on the newspaper report.

Authorities investigating the intrusions have found software tools left behind that could be used to destroy infrastructure components, the senior intelligence official said. He added, "If we go to war with them, they will try to turn them on."

Officials said water, sewage and other infrastructure systems also were at risk.

Protecting the electrical grid and other infrastructure is a key part of the Obama administration's cybersecurity review, which is to be completed next week.

The sophistication of the U.S. intrusions, which extend beyond electric to other key infrastructure systems, suggests that China and Russia are mainly responsible, according to intelligence officials and cybersecurity specialists.

While terrorist groups could develop the ability to penetrate U.S. infrastructure, they do not appear to have yet mounted attacks, these officials say.

North Korea threatens "strong steps" if U.N. acts

Whah , whah ,whah !  North Korea needs to quit whining , and just stop their B.S. campaign that is More about getting what they want ( Money and food aid to support their military ) Than being about Supposedly launching satellites !

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - North Korea warned the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday that it would take "strong steps" if the 15-nation body took any action in response to Pyongyang's launch of a long-range rocket.

"If the Security Council, they take any kind of steps whatever, we'll consider this is (an) encroachment on our sovereignty and the next option will be ours," Deputy Ambassador Pak Tok Hun told reporters. "Necessary and strong steps will ... follow that."

U.N. Security Council resolution banning the firing of such missiles by Pyongyang. The resolution was passed after a nuclear test by North Korea.

In a rare appearance before reporters at U.N. headquarters, Pak said criticism of the launch was undemocratic and any country was entitled to use outer space peacefully.

"It's not fair. It's not fair," he said. "While they themselves launch more than a hundred times the satellites ... we are not allowed to do that. That is not democratic.

Sarkozy says France will take Guantanamo detainee

Well ain't that special !  Sarkozy , is trying to be nice here , But really One inmate out of 245 !
If you think France has a big Muslim problem now  , wait till this guy Gets shop set up !
No country in their right mind wants to take these Efing rejects and just turn them loose on society !   They will all have to be watched for years to come ! One of Al Qaidas best tactics Is The waiting game !
P.S  I don't consider France in their right mind !

STRASBOURG, France (Reuters) - France is ready to take a detainee from Guantanamo Bay when the prison camp is shut down, French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Friday after a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama.

He said he had long been a critic of Guantanamo but that if Obama needed allies to take detainees from the facility in order to close it, then France would agree.

"We can't condemn the United States because they have that camp and then wash our hands of it once they close it. That's not what being allies is about," Sarkozy said during a joint news conference with Obama.

"Yes, we talked about it, and yes, we reached an agreement," he said, adding there was one Guantanamo detainee connected to France.

Obama expressed his appreciation to Sarkozy for "being good to his word."

"I made the decision to close Guantanamo because I do not think it makes America safer," he said.

"In order to do it carefully and thoughtfully we are going to consult with our allies, and in certain cases we are going to need help with detainees that may still pose a risk but we may not be able to repatriate to their countries of origin."

European governments, who for years called for the camp to be closed and want to mend ties with the United States that were damaged under former President George W. Bush, face pressure to help find a home for some its about 245 remaining detainees.

However, governments have been split on how far they are prepared to go and whether they would accept Guantanamo inmates, particularly those with no link to their own countries.

U.S. expands Pakistani drone-strike zone

Baitullah Meshud , is gonna be pissed off even more now , To bad ! Baitullah , how does it feel Knowing we can strike you At will , and never even risk a U.S. soldier in doing it !

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - A pilotless U.S. drone aircraft fired a missile at a Taliban compound in Pakistan's Orakzai region on Wednesday, killing 12 people in the first such attack in the area, a security official and residents said.

The raid came a day after Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud said his group had carried out an assault on a police training center in the eastern city of Lahore in retaliation for U.S. drone attacks.

Residents of Khadizai village in the ethnic Pashtun tribal region said the missile hit a compound of a Taliban commander loyal to Mehsud, Hakimullah Mehsud, and 12 people were killed.

A security official who declined to be identified confirmed the toll in the strike, adding 13 people had been wounded.

Hakimullah Mehsud was not believed to have been in the compound at the time, another Pakistani intelligence agent said.

A Pakistani Taliban official said the missile had hit a "camp for guests" in Orakzai, which is near but not on the Afghan border, southwest of the city of Peshawar.

"We have sent our people down there but we don't know about the casualties," the Taliban official, who declined to be identified, said by telephone.

The United States, frustrated by an intensifying insurgency in Afghanistan getting support from the Pakistani side of the border, began launching more drone attacks last year.
