Afghanistan is the most dangerous country for women, an international poll of experts on gender issues says.
High levels of violence, poor healthcare and poverty make Afghanistan the worst place for women, the study by the Thomson-Reuters Foundation says.
The survey places the Democratic Republic of Congo and Pakistan in second and third positions.
India is rated the fourth most dangerous country due to high levels of female foeticide and sex trafficking.
Somalia ranked fifth in the survey.

Saudi Facebook Campaign Calls for Men to Beat Women Drivers
Facebook is a new hangout and message board for terrorists, recent pages have popped up calling for the destruction of Israel, Facebook took one of them down but I believe there are still a couple of them up.
Now a new one for Saudi Arabia, Calling for the beating of women who "Plan" to drive in next months protest, 6000 people have liked it so far.
But the problem is Islam, more to the point the people of Islam, calling for the destruction of Israel, calling for the beating of women just because they plan to Drive... give me a break.
Islam is an abusive Religion, and should be treated as such.

A campaign on Facebook is calling for Saudi men to beat women who plan to drive cars in a protest next month, AFP reports.
"The Iqal Campaign: June 17 for preventing women from driving" advocates a cord be used to beat women who plan to drive. Women are not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia.
Some 6,000 people have "liked" the campaign on Facebook.
It was created in response to female activist Manal al-Sharif, who created a page calling for Saudi women to defy the driving ban on June 17.
The Facebook page, called "Teach me how to drive so I can protect myself," was removed after more than 12,000 people indicated their support. The campaign's Twitter account also was deactivated.
Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world that bans women — both Saudi and foreign — from driving. The prohibition forces families to hire live-in drivers, and those who cannot afford the $300 to $400 a month for a driver must rely on male relatives to drive them to work, school, shopping or the doctor.

Afghan Taliban 'end' opposition to educating girls
I saw this a few days ago and thought it kind of a joke.
what kind of an Education will they be allowed to have?
One where they do what they are told or they will be Killed?

The Taliban are ready to drop their ban on schooling girls in Afghanistan, the country's education minister has said.
Farooq Wardak told the UK's Times Educational Supplement a "cultural change" meant the Taliban were "no more opposing girls' education".
The Taliban - who are fighting the Kabul government - have made no public comment on the issue.
Afghan women were not allowed to work or get an education under the Taliban regime overthrown in 2001.
Mr Wardak made his comments during the Education World Forum in London.
He told the TES: "What I am hearing at the very upper policy level of the Taliban is that they are no more opposing education and also girls' education.
"I hope, Inshallah (God willing), soon there will be a peaceful negotiation, a meaningful negotiation with our own opposition and that will not compromise at all the basic human rights and basic principles which have been guiding us to provide quality and balanced education to our people," the minister added.

Women suicide bombers make sense to me.
With all the beatings and abuse they are subject to, it is no surprise that they want to strap on a bomb a blow the shit out of as many men as possible.

A 12-year-old girl who escaped the Taliban in Pakistan says the group is assembling an army of female suicide bombers to carry out attacks across the border.
Meena Gul, who comes from a family of Taliban militants, was detained by security personnel in January after an offensive destroyed militants hideouts in Charmang, Pakistan's The Express Tribune reported.
Gul told the Tribune she was being trained to be a suicide bomber, along with several other women, by her sister in law, Zainab, who fought Pakistani forces dressed as a man.
"She escorted eight women from our village to Afghanistan," she said.
Gul told the paper her brother, a Taliban commander, expected her to follow in the footsteps of her younger sister, who blew herself up in an attack in Afghanistan.
"I, however, managed to escape. I was too scared," she said.
Police were skeptical of Gul's story until Saturday when a burqa-clad bomber killed at least 40 people at a Pakistan food center, the Tribune reported.

ISLAMABAD: Of the 1,195 women murdered in Pakistan this year, 98 were killed after being raped, says a report by the country's first helpline for women and children.
The Madadgaar helpline released a report in Karachi Thursday on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Geo News reported Friday.
The report further said that 321 were raped and 194 gang raped in Pakistan in 2010. a total of 1,091 were tortured, 126 were burnt, 383 were kidnapped, 316 were tortured by police and 491 committed suicide.
A total of 4,870 cases of violence against women were registered by police, while the total number of cases reported since the year 2000 came up to 79,909.
