An Extreme evacuation, for a big bomb.
Foxnews
A massive British World War II-era bomb that triggered the evacuation of about half of the 107,000 residents of Germany's western city of Koblenz was successfully defused Sunday, authorities said.
It was one of Germany's biggest bomb-related evacuations since the war ended with some 2,500 police officers, firefighters and paramedics on duty across the city to secure the operation.
Experts successfully defused the British 1.8 ton bomb and a 275-pound U.S. bomb that had been discovered last month after the Rhine river's water level fell significantly due to a prolonged lack of rain, said Heiko Breitbarth, a spokesman for Koblenz's firefighters.

Nagasaki remembers bombing; US has representative
The One that assured the end of WWII and saved the deaths of possibly millions of Japanese and Americans by preventing the invasion of Japan !
Signed sealed and delivered.
Terrible, Yes, devastating, Yes, but this is also one of the reasons America works so hard to keep this type of weapon away from fruitcakes like Ahmadinejad, and Kim Jong Ill.
Forbes
The U.S. has sent its first representative to the annual memorial for the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, as the Japanese city remembered the historic horrors of radiation amid the nation's unfolding nuclear crisis.
As in past years, a moment of silence was observed at 11:02 a.m. Tuesday, 66 years after the moment the bomb dropped on the southern city on Aug. 9, 1945, in the closing days of World War II.

New York Times
HIROSHIMA, Japan — The United States ambassador participated for the first time on Friday in an annual ceremony to mark the anniversary of the atomic bombing here in World War II, raising hopes that President Obama may soon follow.
With the mournful gonging of a Buddhist temple bell and the release of doves, a crowd of 55,000 solemnly marked the moment 65 years ago when the world’s first atomic attack incinerated this city under a towering mushroom cloud.
During the ceremony, Hiroshima’s mayor welcomed the ambassador, John Roos, and praised President Obama as one of the world leaders who “wielded their powerful influence” to rid the world of nuclear weapons.
