U.N. estimates 5,000 killed in Syrian uprising

Some more Muslim Killing Muslim peaceful violence in Syria.

Yep that's right, peaceful violence; only in Islam !

(CNN) -- As explosions and gunfire continued to ripple in Syria, the United Nations high commissioner for human rights on Monday raised the death toll from the Damascus government's crackdown on anti-regime activists to close to 5,000 people.
"This situation is intolerable," Navi Pillay said in a briefing for the U.N. Security Council.
The same day that Pillay spoke, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and a resident of Homs -- an opposition hotbed and frequent site of violence in recent months -- reported that a gas pipeline exploded near the city, following by gunfire and circulating military airplanes.
The state-run Syrian Arab News Agency, or SANA, played up local elections Monday as an expression of "democracy and free will." Yet the Homs resident said there was no evidence of voting in that city. Instead, this witness reported nonstop shooting and bombardments.
Such violence is nothing new in Syria, with Pillay reporting more than 200 people have died in the last 10 days and "the Syrian population continues to live in fear of further violent repression."
The Syrian government, meanwhile, has consistently blamed the violence on "armed terrorist" gang members and denied any efforts to target peaceful civilians.

Nigerian bombers blame U.N. for 'oppression' of Muslims

Yeah the Org that pretty much will not do or say anything against Muslims even when they are like you know, Al Qaida, is now oppressing Muslims!

Islam the Religion of Feckin Idiots.

CNN

The Nigerian Islamic militant group Boko Haram says it bombed U.N. offices in Abuja last week because the world body is a partner "in the oppression of believers," a spokesman for the group said Wednesday.

Friday's car bombing killed 23 people and wounded more than 80. Boko Haram, which aims to impose a strict version of Islamic law in Nigeria, claimed responsibility for the attack.

In a brief telephone interview arranged by an intermediary, Boko Haram spokesman Abul Qaqa said a 27-year-old Nigerian named Mohammed Abul Barra drove the explosives-packed Honda Accord into the U.N. building.

"All over the world, the U.N. is a global partner in the oppression of believers," Qaqa said. "We are at war against infidels. In Nigeria, the federal government tries to perpetuate the agenda of the United Nations."

Islamic Jihad announces new Gaza ceasefire agreement

According to Islamic Jihad, a small terrorist group with roots in the Muslim Brotherhood,

Isn't that the group that the Obamasiah admin said was not a terrorist group?

The Jerusalem post
The Islamic Jihad organization announced a new ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip early Friday morning.

According to sources in Gaza the ceasefire was brokered by Egypt and the UN.

The ceasefire has already begun, according to Israel Radio.

Nafaz Azam, one of the organization's leaders in the Gaza Strip, made the statement, which was unexpected, as earlier Thursday the terrorist group had vowed to extend the range of their rocket capabilities, sending projectiles deeper into Israeli territory.

According to Islamic Jihad, a small terrorist group with roots in the Muslim Brotherhood, it would triple the number of Israelis affected by rocket attacks.

This announcement came as the South braced for a weekend of violence as rocket fire intensified on Thursday and the IDF struck back, killing two terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

At least 15 rockets and mortar shells pounded southern Israel, hitting open areas near Ashkelon and in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council. A mortar shell struck the Erez crossing, which is frequently used by Palestinians to enter Israel for medical treatments, causing extensive damage.

Qaddafi Preparing to Flee Libya

O.K., We will See !

Haven't we heard this before.

Foxnews

Muammar al-Qaddafi is preparing to flee Libya possibly within the next few days, U.S. officials citing intelligence reports tell NBC News.

Officials are not completely certain that the Libyan leader will leave but reports point to him considering a move with his family possibly for exile in Tunisia.

The reports come a day after Pentagon officials described Libyan rebel gains as “significant developments” in the civil war that has engulfed the country.

On Wednesday, Pentagon Spokesman George Little said that "the future doesn't look particularly bright for (Libyan leader Col. Muammar) Qaddafi, but we'll have to see where things go."

He attributed the outlook to the rebel effort combined with sustained pressure from NATO operations and the economic and diplomatic sanctions.

Libya: US to deploy armed drones

A small contribution, They feel that Gadaffys troops are dispersing ahead of the Airstrikes, running and hiding every time they hear the jets.

This is definitely gonna be a drawn out affair.

BBC
Armed US Predator drones are to carry out missions over Libya, Defence Secretary Robert Gates has said.

Mr Gates said their use had been authorised by President Barack Obama and would give "precision capability" to the military operation.

Unmanned US drones are already used to target militants along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Libyan rebels have been battling Col Gaddafi's troops since February but have recently made little headway.

"President Obama has said that where we have some unique capabilities, he is willing to use those," Mr Gates told a news conference.

He said two Predators were being made available to Nato as needed, and marked a "modest contribution" to the military operations.

Iran talks fail, no new date set

There should be no more talks with Iran, They use them as a Platform to show the world they will not be "Bullied" and that they will do what they want!

When they finally get to where they need to be with their Nuke program, we need to just strike first!

Foxnews
Talks meant to nudge Iran toward heeding U.N. Security Council demands to stop uranium enrichment collapsed Saturday, with Tehran shrugging off calls by six world powers to cease the activity that could be harnessed to make nuclear arms.

Announcing the failure of two days of negotiations, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said no new date for another meeting had been set. She blamed what the six consider unrealistic demands by Iran — an end to U.N. sanctions and agreement that Iran could continue to enrich — for the disappointing results.

Proposals by the six for improved U.N. monitoring of Iran's nuclear activities were rejected by Tehran, as were attempts to kickstart dialogue through reviving a subset of international talks focusing on Iran shipping out a limited amount of its enriched uranium in exchange for fuel for its research reactor, Ashton said.

"We had hoped to have a detailed and constructive discussion of those ideas," she said. "But it became clear that the Iranian side was not ready for this unless we agree to preconditions related to enrichment and sanctions.

U.N. to send more peacekeepers to Ivory Coast

Civil war anyone? If the Ivory coast ever pops it is going to be a mess, and the U.N. will loose control so fast it will make your head spin.

"allegations that the armed forces and militia groups that back opposing camps in the current political crisis are arming ethnic groups allied to each camp."

The Washington Post
UNITED NATIONS - The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously Wednesday to reinforce the U.N. mission in Ivory Coast with 2,000 additional peacekeepers, escalating an international campaign to pressure the country's longtime ruler to step down from power.

The council's action came as another round of African Union mediation failed to dislodge Prime Minister Laurent Gbagbo, who was defeated Nov. 28 in a U.N.-certified runoff election by opposition leader Alassane Ouattara.

U.N. officials warned that the ethnically divided West African country - which emerged only seven years ago from a bloody civil conflict between Gbagbo's army and rebel forces - could return to war.

"We remain gravely concerned about the possibility of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and ethnic cleansing in Cote d'Ivoire,"

Toll in Ivory Coast rises to 247 dead

"This isn't possible. We are against all forms of violence," Gbagbo's government spokesman Ahoua Don Mello said by telephone. "Our forces are professional. They are there to keep order."

Yeah Right!

Knowing that the U.N. is not truthful, and likes to hide the reality of any situation they are in;I'm sure this death toll is much Higher.

(Reuters) - At least 247 people have been killed in violence in Ivory Coast since its disputed November 28 presidential election, the United Nations human rights office said on Friday.

The death toll is up from 210 a week ago, U.N. human rights spokesman Rupert Colville told a media briefing in Geneva.

The latest figure includes four civilians and seven police killed in clashes in the Abidjan suburb of Abobo this week, and was firmly denied by the camp of incumbent Laurent Gbagbo.

"This isn't possible. We are against all forms of violence," Gbagbo's government spokesman Ahoua Don Mello said by telephone. "Our forces are professional. They are there to keep order."
