So it appears that no matter what the Palestinians do they will become full members of the U.N., it starts with acceptance into UNESCO; and the U.S. stopped its funding for these U.N. programs.

Palestine became the 195th full member of Unesco on Monday, as the United Nations organization defied a mandated cutoff of American funds under federal legislation from the 1990s. The vote of Unesco’s full membership was 107 to 14, with 52 abstentions.
The step will cost the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization one-quarter of its yearly budget — the 22 percent contributed by the United States (about $70 million) plus another 3 percent contributed by Israel. Victoria Nuland, a State Department spokeswoman, said that American contributions to Unesco, including $60 million scheduled for this month, would not be paid.

Shalit handed over to Israel
Well that is finally over.
If I was anybody in charge in Israel, the other 550 prisoners to be released at a later date would end up shot in the head during a prison riot ! And just tell Hamas It was an unavoidable accident.(only 477 prisoners released at this time)

No more Israeli apologies ( Or why the U.N. is a bunch of Useless Nitwits )
The Egyptians, without even a shred of corroborating evidence, rushed to blame the IDF – rather than lunatic Islamic fanatics - for the death of Egyptian soldiers.
this is old news, because this happens all the time; Israel gets attacked they retaliate in kind and the world blames Israel !
Confusing to say the least, but it happens.
It is rare that you find the actual perpetrators ( Islamic Nutjobs ) of the attacks, condemned anywhere in the media.

While rockets were falling on Israeli towns and innocent Jewish blood was being spilled, an odd debate raged on in the UN Security Council: whether to issue a condemnation of the recent terror attacks perpetrated against innocent Israeli civilians, including children. Amazingly enough, a current member of the Security Council – Lebanon – prevented the condemnation from coming to fruition.
The Lebanese demanded a toned down, more “balanced” denunciation that includes criticism of Israeli retaliatory strikes in Gaza. It did not matter that the IDF responded by attacking legitimate targets – leaders of the terror group that executed the attacks, weapons compounds, smuggling tunnels and rocket and mortar cells aiming to kill Jews indiscriminately. No condemnation was issued, and no one blinked an eye.
The Arab League also announced an emergency session over Israeli retaliation in the Strip. Apparently, the death of some murderers was a more pressing affair than the thousands of casualties in Syria, ongoing riots in Yemen, and the civil war in Libya.
The Palestinian Authority, as usual, issued a lackadaisical rebuke of the loss of innocent life, while focusing on punitive anti-Israel censure. This leadership is expected to lead a Palestinian statehood bid in September, despite the absence of even a semblance of government unity, adequate control over terror groups, undefined borders, massive corruption and economic mismanagement. Still, the world doesn’t seem to mind too much.

Airlines fully booked, unable to return activists who were refused entry
Hilarious at the very least.
They have been blocked from leaving port in Greece, some even arrested.
They were allowed to fly into Israel, but are now blocked from leaving.
It serves them right, terrorist supporters should be treated like this, they should never be given a platform to spout their rhetoric.

The foreign airlines operating in Israel say they will have a hard time flying large groups of people who were refused entry into the country back to their destinations of origin.
A senior official for one of the large European carriers told Haaretz on Saturday that "The airlines will have a hard time dealing all at once with large groups of pro-Palestinian activists that Israel wants to deport."
"We're talking about the peak of summer traveling season and the flights are full. We'll have to act accordingly and make different preparations, but first of all, we'll have to receive instructions from the head of the aviation authority in Israel for the deportation of the activists," he said.
"At present, we are unprepared to deal with this, in terms of human resources and in terms of amount of planes," the official added.
The authorities are expected to deport more than 100 pro-Palestinian activists that landed at Ben Gurion airport in the past few days. The last group of 35 activists landed on Friday just before midnight on a Lufthansa flight from Farnkfurt, and were transferred to a police detention facility.

Gaza City produces map highlighting local 'must sees'
I can't wait, Now that gaza haza map, I can put it on my list of shitholes of the world I have yet to visit! It's right up there with pakistan, somalia, assghanistan, yemen, Pretty much any Muslim Country!
Do they have a Hamas guided Bus tour? They could tour all the Martirdum sites, and possibly the Qassam rocket facilities, Oh Joy.

Greece puts halt to Gaza flotilla in a win for Israel

Powerful explosion near UN office in Gaza City
Why anyone in Palestine would try to blow up the U.N. is beyond me, the U.N is one of the biggest pro Palestinian orgs in the World.

The blast tore a 2m (6ft) hole through a wall surrounding the UN building.
A BBC reporter at the scene said the blast had been caused by an explosive device. There have been no reports of casualties.

Several days after Fatah nominated Salam Fayyad to head the new Palestinian government, Hamas announced it was pushing for Ismail Haniyeh's appointment.
According to the London-based al-Hayat newspaper, a senior Hamas element said that as far as the Islamist group is concerned, Haniyeh will head the new Palestinian government. Fatah and Hamas representatives are slated to meet Tuesday and discuss the makeup of the new government.
Earlier this week, Fatah movement nominated Prime Minister Salam Fayyad to head a transitional Palestinian government which was met by Hamas opposition.

Palestinian faction Hamas rejects Fatah nominee for PM

Can they put aside their differences this time? Can they come together as one and really do something with Palestine? or will they start bickering again leaving Palestine in utter turmoil.

Jerusalem (CNN) -- The Israeli military on Monday blamed protesters trying to cross the fortified border between Syria and occupied Golan Heights for the deaths of 10 of their own, saying they threw fire bombs that set off landmines.
About 10 of the protesters killed in Sunday's clashes were killed "as a result of their own activity," Lt. Col. Avital Leibovich, an Israeli military spokeswoman, told CNN Monday.
The protests came on the anniversary of the 1967 Middle East War, when Israel captured the Golan Heights from Syria. The Israel Defense Forces said that Israeli troops used tear gas and live ammunition on members of an "angered mob."
A group of protesters near the Kuneitra border crossing threw fire bombs that detonated a number of old landmines that had been placed in the area, Leibovich said. The resulting explosions, she said, led to the death of some of the protesters.
Leibovich said the information was based on intelligence assessments and reports from Israeli military commanders on the ground.Syrian state media reported 23 protesters were killed by Israeli soldiers opening fire on demonstrators.

Palestinians say Netanyahu speech will not bring peace
And Palestine goes with its default Statement...
There will never be peace in the Middle east, not because of Israel because of the ignorant uneducated rejects that live in Palestine. I understand being stupid, but why is there so many stupid people in Palestine?
When you are told not to launch your little rockets into another country or you will be killed, And you do it anyway, You are going to die.
when you say things like ..."the destruction of Israel is the only answer" What do you expect?
When Israel celebrates its anniversary and every country around it goes ballistic and tries to breach all the fences, do they expect Israel to just let it happen?
Words do not come together to describe how these ingrates are, stupid comes close but it is an insult to stupid people.

But he rejected US President Barack Obama's call for a peace deal based on pre-1967 borders, plus land swaps.
Reacting to the speech, Abbas spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina said: "What came in Netanyahu's speech will not lead to peace".
He said there was "nothing new" in the speech, "except that he is adding obstacles on the road towards a genuine, serious, lasting and comprehensive peace".
Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat said the speech proved Israel could not be a partner for peace in the region.
Mr Erekat said Mr Netanyahu was seeking to "dictate the results" of negotiations before they had begun.

Abbas aide: Hamas doesn't have to recognize Israel

Israel has denounced the plan for Abbas' Fatah movement to join forces with Hamas because of the militant group's long history of deadly attacks against Israeli targets, and has equated the deal with a renunciation of peacemaking.
Like the United States and the European Union, Israel considers Hamas a terrorist organization and says it will not negotiate with a future Palestinian government that includes the Iranian- and Syrian-backed group.
It's not clear whether Western powers would deal with the new government that is to emerge from the unity deal. They've said they are waiting to see its composition.

Israel has denounced the plan for Abbas' Fatah movement to join forces with Hamas because of the militant group's long history of deadly attacks against Israeli targets, and has equated the deal with a renunciation of peacemaking.
Like the United States and the European Union, Israel considers Hamas a terrorist organization and says it will not negotiate with a future Palestinian government that includes the Iranian- and Syrian-backed group.
It's not clear whether Western powers would deal with the new government that is to emerge from the unity deal. They've said they are waiting to see its composition.
The Quartet of Mideast mediators — the U.S., the EU, the United Nations and Russia — has long demanded that Hamas renounce violence and recognize the principle of Israel's right to exist.

Facebook drops 'intifada' page for promoting violence
Facebook did not want to do this, but they were forced to. thanks in part to the work of Stable Hand, over at the Jawa Report.

Abbas says he is ready to meet Hamas in Gaza to end division
Back to the old ways of terrorism then eh?

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday declared a new initiative to end the division in the Palestinian ranks. He announced at a meeting in Ramallah of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Central Council that he is ready to travel “tomorrow” to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip to end the split.
"I am ready to go to Gaza tomorrow to end the division," Abbas said, "and form a government of independent nationalist figures to prepare for presidential and legislative elections, as well as elections for the Palestinian National Council [the PLO’s parliament-in-exile], within six months or as soon as possible.”
Abbas called on Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas leader who heads the government in Gaza and is a former prime minister whom Abbas had fired in 2007, to make the necessary arrangements with other factions in Gaza to meet him at the Erez crossing between Israel and Gaza. Abbas said he hopes the arrangements will be ready in the next few days.
