Dismantling the Bomb.

Dismantling the worlds largest nuke was not an easy task, the people that created the beast are all dead or almost dead; and tey actually had to reinvent tools to perform the dismantling.

This thing was 100 times more powerful than the one dropped on Hiroshima.

The last B-53 bomb – built in 1962, the year of the Cuban missile crisis – was dismantled at the Pantex facility in Amarillo, the only place in the United States that still builds, maintains and dismantles nuclear weapons.
Grey in colour, weighing 10,000 pounds (4,500 kilograms) and as big as a small car, it had the power to wipe out an entire metropolitan area with its nine-megaton yield when dropped from a B-52 bomber.
By comparison, the atom bomb that destroyed the Japanese city of Hiroshima in the final days of World War II packed a yield of 12 kilotons, or 0.012 megatons. The bomb killed more than 100,000 people.

66 years ago today.

Like it or not it stopped the war !

U.S. Attends Hiroshima Ceremony

65 years ago today , America stopped world war II .

Ambassador John Roos attended the memorial ceremony in Hiroshima today , The U.S. offered no apology for the dropping of the Little Boy Atomic Bomb , as we should not .
Japan Has never formerly apologized for the Attack on Pearl Harbor , So why should we ?
This whole rid the world of Nuclear weapons is fine and dandy , but there are plenty of other countries to make an example of !

HIROSHIMA, Japan — The United States ambassador participated for the first time on Friday in an annual ceremony to mark the anniversary of the atomic bombing here in World War II, raising hopes that President Obama may soon follow.

With the mournful gonging of a Buddhist temple bell and the release of doves, a crowd of 55,000 solemnly marked the moment 65 years ago when the world’s first atomic attack incinerated this city under a towering mushroom cloud.

During the ceremony, Hiroshima’s mayor welcomed the ambassador, John Roos, and praised President Obama as one of the world leaders who “wielded their powerful influence” to rid the world of nuclear weapons.
