Truck bomb kills dozens in capital of Somalia

Dozens of kids and their parents were killed while trying to register for scholarships at a university!

Yep that will teach the Somali Government and the AU peacekeepers !

(And they vow to follow through with more large scale attacks)

Al Qaida, A misguided gang of retards.
Islam A Misguided religion of retards.

Boston.com
Al-Qaida-linked militants launched their deadliest single bombing in Somalia on Tuesday, killing 70 people and demonstrating how the group that blocked aid to famine victims can still mount devastating violence even after most of its fighters fled the capital in August.

A truck loaded with drums of fuel exploded outside the Ministry of Education on one of central Mogadishu's busiest streets, where students and their parents were registering for scholarships offered by the Turkish government.

Rebels of the al-Shabab militant group immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing, saying it was striking government officials and foreigners -- referring to African Union peacekeeping troops supporting the U.N.-backed regime.

Although the Islamic fighters made what they called a "tactical withdrawal" from their bases in Mogadishu amid an AU offensive in August, they had vowed to carry out devastating suicide attacks.

Somalia famine spreads 'beyond reach of aid'

Far to little and way too late, that is how the U.N. operates.

But the reason why is only due to the fact that NOBODY wants to really help this part of the World; and for good reason.

Too many countries have tried and been burnt in the end, there is no helping savages.

Too bad because of that small children have too suffer and die, but this is what the Militants want.

Al Jazzeera
Famine has spread to a sixth area of Somalia and tens of thousands of people have died as a result of severe food shortages, the United Nations has said.

More than half of Somalia's entire population faces a severe food shortage, and the world body has now officially extended the famine zone.

In Mogadishu, there are now half a million refugees and there are warnings from the UN that the famine could spread to the entire south of the country by the end of the year.

The UN says it needs at least $1bn, but one leading charity says the public is being mislead into believing that money can solve the crisis.

Medicine Sans Frontiere, Doctors Without Borders, wants international aid agencies to admit that reaching some of the worst affected victims of famine may not be possible.

Al-Shabab Militants Withdraw From Somali Capital

The problem is they will not keep the pressure on Al Shabab, they have pushed them out of the capital but they are not killing them; which is the only way to get rid of them, they are like cockroaches.

Islam the Religion of Cockroaches.

VOA
Somali government and Islamist spokesmen say al-Qaida linked al-Shabab militants are pulling out of Mogadishu.

An al-Shabab spokesman says the group began leaving its positions in Mogadishu late Friday. He called it a strategic move to prevent a counter attack. He said al-Shabab will remain in other towns in southern Somalia.

Al-Shabab has been fighting to topple the Somali government. It has also been trying to prevent food aid from being dispersed to millions of victims of drought and famine across Somalia

Somali famine spreads

Three new areas are now affected by the Al Shabab imposed famine, I say Al Shabab imposed because if they were to not be such big jackasses; the people of Somalia would be receiving the food and aid they need.

But hey it is Islam we are talking about better to starve your people to death than accept food and water from the Infidel Americans.

The Washington post
The famine gripping parts of southern Somalia has spread to three new areas of the country, with the entire south likely to be declared a famine zone within the next six weeks, the United Nations said Wednesday.

Acute malnutrition and death rates have surpassed famine thresholds in the Balcad and Cadale districts of Middle Shabelle and among the refugee populations in Mogadishu and the Afgoye corridor, according to a statement from the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization’s Somalia food security unit.

The statement called the current humanitarian response “inadequate,” attributing to it “ongoing access restrictions and difficulties in scaling up emergency assistance programs, as well as funding gaps.”

Much of southern Somalia is controlled by al-Shabab Islamist militants who last year banned food aid and forced many aid groups out of the region, exacerbating the drought crisis.

Famine is expected to persist across southern Somalia until the end of the year, the statement said.

Somalis Waste Away as Insurgents Block Escape From Famine

“It is safe to say that many people are going to die as a result of little or no access,” Mr. James said.

Oh your Starving ? Your children are dying ? you are trying to flee the country to Ethiopia so you may get help ? Oh no, you must go to prison now.

Al Shabab, is ensuring the deaths of thousands of people by denying Aid and denying people the ability to leave to one of two places where they can get the help they need, and one of those is known for its starving and destitute people.

Islam, the Religion of we will starve you to death before accepting Aid from the West.

The New York Times

somalia — The Shabab Islamist insurgent group, which controls much of southern Somalia, is blocking starving people from fleeing the country and setting up a cantonment camp where it is imprisoning displaced people who were trying to escape Shabab territory.

The group is widely blamed for causing a famine in Somalia by forcing out many Western aid organizations, depriving drought victims of desperately needed food. The situation is growing bleaker by the day, with tens of thousands of Somalis already dead and more than 500,000 children on the brink of starvation.

Every morning, emaciated parents with emaciated children stagger into Banadir Hospital, a shell of a building with floors that stink of diesel fuel because that is all the nurses have to fight off the flies. Babies are dying because of the lack of equipment and medicine. Some get hooked up to adult-size intravenous drips — pediatric versions are hard to find — and their compromised bodies cannot handle the volume of fluid.

Most parents do not have money for medicine, so entire families sit on old-fashioned cholera beds, with basketball-size holes cut out of the middle, taking turns going to the bathroom as diarrhea streams out of them.

Fazul Abdullah Mohammed: Death is 'blow' for al-Qaeda

Yes, what a great way to start off a Sunday with news of the death of an Al Qaida reject,

BBC

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said the death of top African al-Qaeda militant Fazul Abdullah Mohammed is a "significant blow" to the group.

He and another militant were killed earlier this week in a shootout with police at a checkpoint in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, officials said.

Mr Mohammed was the most wanted man in Africa, with a $5m bounty on his head.

He was suspected of having played a key role in the 1998 US embassy bombings in East Africa, which killed 224 people.

Yemen rebels say air raid kills 120

Accusing the U.S. Of helping out with an Airstrike ? If the U.S. was involved a High Value Target was killed , That would be the only reason we would do this !
Seeing as how a High value target was not mentioned , it is probably unlikely !
But to the Douchbags of Somalia---->( The Cesspool of the World )
"Paybacks are a Bitch !"
....
SANAA (Reuters) - Yemeni Shi'ite rebels accused the U.S. air force on Tuesday of joining attacks against them, and killing at least 120 people in a raid in the north of the poor Arab state.

"The savage crime committed by the U.S. air force shows the real face of the United States," said the northern rebels, who often report attacks by the Yemeni and Saudi fighter planes, on their website. There was no immediate report of U.S. comment on the alleged incident.

The rebels, who are fighting the Yemeni army and forces of neighboring Saudi Arabia, posted videos on the Internet that appeared to show people trying to clear rubble covering human bodies.

On Sunday, the rebels said at least 70 people had been killed in a Saudi air raid on a market in the northern town of Razeh. The reports could not be verified as aid workers and media have limited access to the conflict zones.

U.S.-allied Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, fears the growing instability in neighboring Yemen could turn into a major security threat for the kingdom by allowing al Qaeda to gain a stronger foothold there.

Somali pirates seize weapons ship, attack tanker

The Somalia pirates again reach out even farther in their attempt to takeover the waterways around the Horn of Africa !
And now they have more weapons to do it with !
....
MOGADISHU (Reuters) - Somali pirates have seized a United Arab Emirates-flagged cargo ship loaded with weapons bound for the anarchic Horn of Africa nation in contravention of a U.N. arms embargo, maritime experts said Monday.

Also Monday, the gunmen launched their longest range hijack attempt yet -- opening fire on a giant Hong Kong-flagged crude oil tanker 1,000 nautical miles east of Mogadishu.

Andrew Mwangura of the East African Seafarers' Assistance Program told Reuters he believed the weapons ship was using a fake name. He said it had been hijacked Sunday and was now held near the northern Somali town of Garacad.

"She is one of the regular weapons carriers circumventing the U.N. arms embargo on Somalia," Mwangura said. Maritime sources say the craft is believed to be carrying light arms and ammunition, as well as rockets and rocket-propelled grenades.

"We understand the weapons belong to the Somali government," Farah, a pirate, told Reuters by satellite telephone.

Another gang member, Hassan, said the weapons ship was well known to them: "It has been circling in our ocean for a long time, bringing illegal weapons to massacre Somalis," he said.

Islamic Stupidity !

Somali Islamists clash as Ethiopians withdraw

That's right "Stupidity" , for one they are just plain ass stupid in their quest to take over everything that they see ! (And destroy it ) but now they are fighting each other ! Which is good it keeps them occupied .
This is one of the reasons Islum will FAIL ! It breeds so much Hatred that it is self destructive , They will never be able to come together as a "Cult" ( Or Religion )long enough to do anything !!!Keep it up you fucking idiots , soon you will have killed each other off , and the rest of the world won't have to come together and do it for you !!!!

MOGADISHU (Reuters) - Fighting between rival Somali Islamist groups and hardline insurgents on Washington's foreign terrorist list killed dozens of people north of the capital Mogadishu on Sunday, witnesses said.

An Islamist insurgency has been battling government and Ethiopian troops for the past two years, ever since Addis Ababa sent forces to oust the Islamic Courts Union from Mogadishu.

More than 16,000 civilians have been killed in the insurgency, a million people have been forced from their homes and more than a third of the population depend on aid.

But an estimated 3,000 Ethiopians are now withdrawing and some Islamist factions appear to be turning on al Shabaab fighters, a hardline insurgent group that wants to impose a strict version of Islamic law traditionally shunned by Somalis.

Analysts say while the Ethiopian withdrawal could usher in a new chapter of violence, it may also be a window of opportunity to bring some Islamist groups into the political process and form a broad, inclusive government.

Witnesses said more than 20 people, mostly fighters, were killed in Sunday's battles between Hareka al Shabaab al Mujahideen, or the Mujahideen Youth Movement, and another Islamist group in Gurael, a trading town in central Somalia.

Sheikh Abdullahi Abu Yusuf, spokesman for the Islamist group Ahlu Sunna Waljamaca, said its fighters had killed 30 al Shabaab militants and seized most of their weapons.

Resident Ahmed Ali told Reuters by telephone he had seen two dead, including an al Shabaab leader, and said Ahlu Sunna Waljamaca was in control of the town after repulsing an attack.

A doctor at Istarlin hospital in Gurael said it had received 20 wounded on Sunday and more were on their way.

The fighting followed clashes a day earlier between al Shabaab rebels and moderate Islamists in Balad, 30 km (19 miles) north of Mogadishu, on Saturday.

Al Shabaab, which spearheaded attacks last year to become the face of the insurgency, is also battling Ethiopian and government soldiers elsewhere outside the capital.

While the fighting may be a struggle between Islamist groups jostling for position as the Ethiopians go, local militias angry with al Shabaab's acts are reported to be helping.

Washington accuses the group of having close ties to al Qaeda. Al Shabaab has been imposing strict sharia law on the towns it controls in southern Somalia -- banning drinking or films and beheading suspected government collaborators.

Ahlu Sunna Waljamaca accuses al Shabaab of hunting down and killing its religious leaders and desecrating graves.

Somalia's interim President Sheikh Aden Madobe said on Saturday that al Shabaab was the biggest threat to stability in the Horn of Africa nation and appealed for international help to build up Somali security forces.
