A MAYOR IN CRISIS , Worthy: Kilpatrick plea deal reports are inaccurate

Speaking of ASSHOLES , Kwame should resign,He is an absolute disgrace to the city of Detroit! And a large stain on the picture of Michigan (along with Gov Granholm )coruption and backstabbing ,Have gone hand in hand with Michigan Politics for decades, crooked Mayors who Rape their cities and Oblivious Governors who cant seem to realize that taxing business and people to death do not fix the problem of an out of control Government ! Yes Michigan, It may be too late ! Soon to be a Ghost town ,Detroit is well on it's way to it's demise thanks to a bunch of Idiotic Democrats who think they Know better.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy spoke out this morning about leaks to the media regarding plea deal negotiations in Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's criminal case

"It is the policy of the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office not to comment on matters related to negotiations in the Kilpatrick case or any other case," Worthy said in a statement today. "Reports regarding negotiations in print and broadcast media are not coming from my office. There are other sources, who, for some unknown reason, wish to give erroneous information to the press. We caution the public to remember this."

Worthy did not specify any of the inaccuracies.

Sources close to the investigation have told the Free Press that whether the mayor serves jail time has been the major sticking point to the negotiations. The mayor has insisted that he not serve any time behind bars.

Kilpatrick's ability to offer his resignation as part of a plea deal could disappear as soon as Wednesday, when Gov. Jennifer Granholm is to begin a hearing on whether to remove the mayor for misconduct.

Adding to the drama, a hearing in the mayor's assault case was set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wayne County Circuit Court, ostensibly to reconsider the terms of Kilpatrick's bond. But the hearing, one day before Granholm's proceedings, could also provide a venue for an announcement of a plea deal.

Kilpatrick -- whose new lawyers have been in talks since last week with Worthy's assistants -- is apparently willing to plead guilty to some of the eight felonies stemming from a police whistle-blower trial last year, but he does not want to return to jail, the sources said. He was jailed overnight earlier this month for violating bond.

A guilty plea to a felony would cost him his job and his law license.

The talks do not cover assault charges brought by Attorney General Mike Cox, who accuses Kilpatrick of shoving investigators trying to serve a subpoena on his friend Bobby Ferguson in July. In that case, Cox's prosecutor made an offer for Kilpatrick to resign, plead guilty to one felony and see the other assault charge dismissed -- with sentencing left to the judge.

Well Kwame ,I hope you do some Jail time ,most criminals do !

World War II body found hanging from tree in New Guinea

Its Amazing how this still happens . china news

New Guinean authorities, with the help of the Australian, US and Japanese governments, are investigating the discovery of what is thought to be the skeleton of a World War II pilot.

Bush walkers discovered the skeleton hanging from a jungle canopy halfway along the 96 kilometre historic Kokoda Track, a World War II path which was used for troop movements during the battle.

The man who discovered the skeleton said it was swinging in a tree, caught up in a seat harness and was covered with moss.

Australian, US and Japanese authorities will check records to see if any pilots were reported missing in that area.

Virus Found On Computer In Space Station

How would you like to be the ASSHOLE that brought their flash drive on board the ISS and unleashed a virus ? Thankfully it was taken care of by the Space Station's anti-virus software! And why does the most technically advanced piece of equipment in space not have the INTERNET? FROM INFORMATION WEEK

NASA confirmed on Wednesday that a computer virus was identified on a laptop computer aboard the International Space Station, which carries about 50 computers.

The virus was stopped with virus protection software and posed no threat to ISS systems or operations, said NASA spokesperson Kelly Humphries.
Citing NASA security policies, Humphries said he could not disclose further details about how the virus was brought to the ISS.

Like billionaires, computer viruses occasionally make the trip into space. "It's not the first virus we've seen on the station," said Humphries. "It's not a common occurrence by any means."

None of the previous computer viruses found on computers aboard the ISS have had any operational impact, said Humphries.

News that a virus had been identified on the ISS was first reported on Monday by online news site SpaceRef.com, which identified the virus as W32.Gammima.AG worm, malware designed to steal logon information from online gamers.

It's unlikely that ISS astronauts are playing World of Warcraft in their spare time, however, because the ISS does not have a direct Internet connection.

NASA is currently reviewing the incident and may make procedural recommendations based on its findings.

The SpaceRef report suggested that a flash card or USB drive brought on board by an astronaut may have been the source of the laptop infection.

Madonna makes a political statement

You Know coming from a dried up prune of a performer ,who dumped the United States like a hot potato ,moved to Europe ,and has completely fell off the map,I guess it does not surprise me to here this kind of bullshit from the Old tart...I'm sure her tour will do fine.
from The star ledger

MADONNA, WHO has no peer in the art of overstatement, launched her international "Sticky and Sweet" tour Saturday night in Wales, and among the show's video interludes is a sequence of images linking destruction, global warming, Adolf Hitler, Zimbabwe's dictator Robert Mugabe and our own U.S. Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for president.

Later on in the show, another montage shows John Lennon, Al Gore, Mahatma Gandhi and presumed Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama. Reeeeaaaal subtle.
McCain's rep tells Fox News "the comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time."

Russia going Nuclear!?

The cold war seems like it is coming back !Russia again has used the threat of Nuclear retaliation over the European Missile defense system in Poland ! Will they do it ? I seriously doubt it , But a threat is a threat !
MOSCOW — The United States and Poland signed a deal Wednesday to place a U.S. missile defense base just 115 miles from Russia — a move followed swiftly by a new warning from Moscow of a possible military response.

For many Poles — whose country has been a staunch U.S. ally in Iraq and Afghanistan — the accord represented what they believed would be a guarantee of safety for themselves in the face of a newly assertive Russia.

A newly Assertive Russia!,Putting aside some Conspiracy theories ,(or putting them out there?) I think that the Big REDS are working together on some things ( Behind the Scenes)Russia And China , Have been "Buddying" up as of the past few years !, China has built their Military up Beyond everyones Imagination !Russia ? hard to say , an aging Military? A big Military non the less.
This is going to be One of those Wait and see deals , it may be years ! but I think A Big RED Alliance Is coming. read more on the missile defense threat here

Mexico anti-drug officials worked for cartel: government

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Six members of a government crime-fighting unit have been arrested on suspicion of working for a powerful drug cartel run by the country's most-wanted man, the attorney general's office said on Wednesday

The officials, who focused on organized crime, are accused of passing crucial information about anti-drug operations to the Sinaloa cartel from Mexico's Pacific coast. It is led by kingpin Joaquin "Shorty" Guzman.

The suspects gave the information to a part of the cartel that has recently turned on Guzman, the government said.

That internal conflict has sparked a surge in the drug-related violence that has killed some 2,000 people in Mexico this year.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon has made crushing drug gangs the main goal of his six-year term, sending troops across Mexico on taking office in December 2006.

But drug violence has spiraled as rival gangs fight for control of lucrative smuggling routes into the United States.

Endemic police corruption has further complicated efforts to rid Mexico of cartels, with some police officers moonlighting as drug hitmen and kidnappers.

Duh ! what the fuck do these asswipes think?
