LHC dismisses petition against use of pig fat in potato chips

Excuse me are those chips Halal?

How funny would it be if Pakistanis have been choking down bags of chips made with a Pig fat extract!

Daily Times
LAHORE: Justice Irfan Qadir of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday dismissed a petition challenging the use of a colour extracted from pig fat in a renowned brand of potato chips available in the market.

The petition was moved by a citizen, Muhammad Yousaf Ansari. The petitioner submitted that ingredients of the chips included a colour E-631, which was allegedly extracted from pig fat. He said a research conducted by an American scientist, Dr Amjad Khan, proved that the colour was prepared from pig fat. He said such a product was prohibited in Islam and also by the constitution, and its sale should be stopped immediately.
