Road Trip !

I took a 560 drive today , all over New Mexico , I hit the Trinity Site and the VLA , the very large array , radio telescope !
it was my second trip to Trinity , but my first to the VLA ... I feel like a geek !



The Monument in the middle of the crowd is the marker for Ground Zero , the spot where the worlds first nuclear detonation took Place ! ( And yes it is still slightly radioactive !

And then the VLA , The National Radio Astronomy Observatory !



This is the place the Movie Contact was partly filmed , Being an avid Astronomy buff , it was absolutely awesome being there !

A couple of the most barren places on earth !
