Syrian troops kill 7 on start of Muslim holiday

And Syria celebrates the greatest Muslim Holiday with Murdering some civilians.

Islam the Religion of celebrating with a few Murders.

Associated press(Linky no worky?)
Syrian security forces killed seven people on Tuesday as they opened fire to disperse thousands of protesters rallying against the regime on the first day of a Muslim holiday that marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, activists said.

The activists said security forces fired at protesters in the southern province of Daraa, in the central city of Homs and in Damascus and its suburbs following morning prayers on the start of Eid al-Fitr, a three -day holiday.

"Eid is when the regime goes," read a banner held up by protesters in the city of Daraa, where the uprising against President Bashar Assad's autocratic regime erupted give months ago.

Amateur videos posted by activists online showed fired up protesters calling for the downfall of the regime and execution of the president. Some called for international protection of Syrian civilians. "We are being killed every day," read another banner.

To fast or not to fast: Eid confusion in Indonesia

Now that there is funny.

If you can't figure out what day you are supposed to end your biggest Holiday/celebration/religious event, then you may be a Muslim in Indonesia.

I thought Islam was very much into Astronomy and science? You would think they would not have a problem figuring out what phase the moon is in.

(Reuters)
- Indonesia's government has declared that the moon is not in the right position for the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan to end as expected on Tuesday, causing hungry disappointment in the world's most populous Muslim nation.

Indonesians, 90 percent of whom are Muslim, celebrate the end of Ramadan or Eid al-Fitr festival with a feast and new clothes, but they have been forced to put their delicacies back in the cupboard for one more day.

Housewife Nur Arifah did not expect the announcement, which came late on Monday, and got up early that day to cook plenty of stewed beef for her family in Jakarta.

"My nephews and nieces have all gathered in my father's house to celebrate with new clothes, yet it's the wrong day.

"The market has already shut, so for me to be able to cook a new dish...we might as well eat instant noodles for Eid al-Fitr," she said.

Many other Muslims who were set to start eating during the day returned to fasting between sunrise and sunset on Tuesday, while shopping malls pushed their closing holiday to Wednesday.

The position of the moon determines the start and end of Ramadan, and astronomers and Muslim bodies told the Indonesian government the moon was too low to herald Eid al-Fitr.

U.S., Israel Monitor Syria's Suspected Cache of Weapons of Mass Destruction

This seems to be a common theme when it comes to Islamic Dictators being taken out of power, what is going to happen with their WMDs ?

Foxnews

The U.S. and Israel are closely monitoring Syria's suspected cache of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), fearing that terror groups could take advantage of the revolt against President Bashar al Assad to obtain blistering agents, nerve gas and long-range missiles, according to officials from both countries.

U.S. intelligence services believe Syria's non-conventional weapons programs include significant stockpiles of mustard gas, VX and Sarin gas and the missile and artillery systems to deliver them, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday.

United Nations investigators also recently concluded that Damascus had been secretly constructing a nuclear reactor with North Korean help before Israeli jets destroyed the site in late 2007. U.S. and U.N. nonproliferation officials continue to worry that Pyongyang may have provided Syria with additional nuclear-related equipment.

"We are very concerned about the status of Syria's WMD, including chemical weapons," Israel's ambassador to the U.S., Michael Oren, said in an interview. "Together with the U.S. administration, we are watching this situation very carefully."

Mexican Army, Federal Agents Raid Casino After Deadly Arson Attack

Mexico is one of the most confusing countries around, their police, Military and their Government are all beyond corrupt and they are getting tough with supposed Illegal gambling.

They must not be getting their cut.

Foxnews

Hundreds of soldiers and federal agents are raiding casinos in this northern city, authorities said Saturday, two days after an arson attack on a gambling house killed 52 people and stunned a country that had become numb to massacres and beheadings.

Security forces had so far confiscated about 1,500 slot machines at 11 casinos in Monterrey and its surroundings and arrested three people, Mexico's tax agency said. It said the continuing operation was meant to verify whether casinos had paid taxes or introduced slot machines illegally.

Thursday's arson attack by gunmen was a macabre milestone in a conflict that the government says has claimed more than 35,000 lives since President Felipe Calderon launched an offensive against drug cartels in late 2006. Others put the death toll near 40,000.

The torching of the Casino Royale has raised questions over Mexico's regulatory controls for fast-spreading gambling houses.

Gaddafi offers to negotiate with Libya rebels over transfer of power

The Momadman of libya is about done, you could say it is all over but the crying, or the beating or stoning(You never know with Islams rejects).

So Libya will soon be able to start their new Government which will undoubtedly elect a new Dictator, it is always what seems to happen in Islamic countries.

The Guardian.co.uk

The offer of negotiations for a transition were slapped down quickly by a senior NTC official, who said the rebels would not talk to Gaddafi unless he surrendered.

"No negotiation is taking place with Gaddafi," said Ali Tarhouni, the rebel official in charge of oil and financial matters. He told Reuters: "If he wants to surrender, then we will negotiate and we will capture him."

The British foreign secretary, William Hague, said on Sunday there had never been any possibility of the Libyan dictator being part of a transition. He described Gaddafi's apparent offer of talks as "delusional".

"I referred a few days ago to Colonel Gaddafi making delusional statements and this is another one of them," he told the BBC. "A transition of power is already taking place. The NTC ministers are in Tripoli and in increasing control of the situation. What is needed from the remnants of the Gaddafi regime is the fighting to stop."

Key Al-Qaida Operative Killed

After a long week of work and school, what awesome news to wake up to today.
Al Qaidas newest number one has been exterminated by way of Predator Drone, it is only fitting for the POS.

So now I'm sure that Ayman Zawahiri will be the #1 guy again for a bit, if we can only now focus on giving him a nice well deserved Hellfire Enema as well.

NPR

U.S. officials say that a CIA drone strike Aug. 22 killed al-Qaida's freshly minted second-in-command. Atiyah al-Rahman was a Libyan who was a key Osama bin Laden associate for decades.

Al-Rahman was killed in Waziristan, Pakistan, officials say, and they seem fairly confident they got their man. There are often reports about drone strikes against core al-Qaida leaders, but the terrorists end up surfacing later. That has happened in al-Rahman's case too, but this time U.S. officials seemed to be pretty sure. They wouldn't say whether they had DNA evidence that last week's attack actually killed him.

Al-Rahman isn't a household name, but he was a key al-Qaida operator. He has been at bin Laden's side since he was a teenager. He fought against the Soviets in Afghanistan. After the death of bin Laden in May, Ayman al-Zawahiri became the group's number one man, and al-Rahman emerged as his deputy.

Officials say al-Rahman figured prominently in the trove of documents Navy SEALs found in the bin Laden compound in Pakistan in May. The documents indicated that al-Rahman was the man bin Laden relied on to get messages to other al-Qaida leaders, and al-Rahman also acted as liaison with other al-Qaida affiliates.

Islamic Jihad announces new Gaza ceasefire agreement

According to Islamic Jihad, a small terrorist group with roots in the Muslim Brotherhood,

Isn't that the group that the Obamasiah admin said was not a terrorist group?

The Jerusalem post
The Islamic Jihad organization announced a new ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip early Friday morning.

According to sources in Gaza the ceasefire was brokered by Egypt and the UN.

The ceasefire has already begun, according to Israel Radio.

Nafaz Azam, one of the organization's leaders in the Gaza Strip, made the statement, which was unexpected, as earlier Thursday the terrorist group had vowed to extend the range of their rocket capabilities, sending projectiles deeper into Israeli territory.

According to Islamic Jihad, a small terrorist group with roots in the Muslim Brotherhood, it would triple the number of Israelis affected by rocket attacks.

This announcement came as the South braced for a weekend of violence as rocket fire intensified on Thursday and the IDF struck back, killing two terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

At least 15 rockets and mortar shells pounded southern Israel, hitting open areas near Ashkelon and in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council. A mortar shell struck the Erez crossing, which is frequently used by Palestinians to enter Israel for medical treatments, causing extensive damage.

Pentagon Pentagon Warns China's Military Is Growing Rapidly

The largest standing Military getting bigger every year, and the U.S. Government doesn't ever think too much of it , until now.

What will the Obamasiah have to say?

Foxnews
Bolstered by the development of a new stealth fighter, an aircraft carrier and a record number of space launches over the past year, China is on pace to achieve its goal of building a modern, regionally focused military by 2020, according to the Pentagon.

In a report released Wednesday, the Pentagon said Beijing has closed critical technological gaps and is rapidly modernizing its military equipment, all with an eye toward preventing possible U.S. and allied intervention in a conflict with Taiwan. It also warns that the military expansion could increasingly stretch to the western Pacific in a move to deny U.S. and allies' access or movement there.

"The pace and scope of China's sustained military investments have allowed China to pursue capabilities that we believe are potentially destabilizing to regional military balances, increase the risk of misunderstanding and miscalculation and may contribute to regional tensions and anxieties," said Michael Schiffer, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for East Asia.

Pakistani Police Safely Recover Kidnapped American

Well it was not the Taliban that kidnapped Mr. Weinstein, they would not have found him so quickly.

I'm wondering if he is planning a trip back to the U.S.

Foxnews
Using tips from arrested suspects, police on Thursday safely recovered a U.S. development expert who was kidnapped almost two weeks ago in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore, a senior police official said.

Police traced the whereabouts of Warren Weinstein, 70, to Khushab city, located some 125 miles (200 kilometers) northwest of Lahore, and freed him during an early morning operation, said Lahore police chief Malik Ahmed Raza.

The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad could not immediately confirm that Weinstein had been found.

No more Israeli apologies ( Or why the U.N. is a bunch of Useless Nitwits )

The Egyptians, without even a shred of corroborating evidence, rushed to blame the IDF – rather than lunatic Islamic fanatics - for the death of Egyptian soldiers.

this is old news, because this happens all the time; Israel gets attacked they retaliate in kind and the world blames Israel !

Confusing to say the least, but it happens.

It is rare that you find the actual perpetrators ( Islamic Nutjobs ) of the attacks, condemned anywhere in the media.

Ynet

While rockets were falling on Israeli towns and innocent Jewish blood was being spilled, an odd debate raged on in the UN Security Council: whether to issue a condemnation of the recent terror attacks perpetrated against innocent Israeli civilians, including children. Amazingly enough, a current member of the Security Council – Lebanon – prevented the condemnation from coming to fruition.

The Lebanese demanded a toned down, more “balanced” denunciation that includes criticism of Israeli retaliatory strikes in Gaza. It did not matter that the IDF responded by attacking legitimate targets – leaders of the terror group that executed the attacks, weapons compounds, smuggling tunnels and rocket and mortar cells aiming to kill Jews indiscriminately. No condemnation was issued, and no one blinked an eye.

The Arab League also announced an emergency session over Israeli retaliation in the Strip. Apparently, the death of some murderers was a more pressing affair than the thousands of casualties in Syria, ongoing riots in Yemen, and the civil war in Libya.

The Palestinian Authority, as usual, issued a lackadaisical rebuke of the loss of innocent life, while focusing on punitive anti-Israel censure. This leadership is expected to lead a Palestinian statehood bid in September, despite the absence of even a semblance of government unity, adequate control over terror groups, undefined borders, massive corruption and economic mismanagement. Still, the world doesn’t seem to mind too much.

Aliens May Strike Humans To Save The Galaxy

The 2012 doomsday prophecy is nothing compared to Aliens being so pissed off at how we take care of the earth that they are going to obliterate us to save the Galaxy!

Time to start drinking folks !

IBTimes
Global warming may not remain merely 'global' anymore, as a new study suggests its cosmic impact.

Beyond endangering the earthly inhabitants, humans may have posed a serious threat to the entire galaxy, possibly prompting aliens to destroy humanity in order to end global warming and save the rest of the galaxy from being contaminated as well.

Surprisingly, the suggestion comes from one of NASA's scientists.

The scenario was brought up in a joint study by Penn State University and the NASA Planetary Science Division, titled "Would Contact with Extraterrestrials Benefit or Harm Humanity? A Scenario Analysis."

"A preemptive strike would be particularly likely in the early phases of our expansion because a civilization may become increasingly difficult to destroy as it continues to expand," the study says. "Humanity may just now be entering the period in which its rapid civilizational expansion could be detected by an ETI (extraterrestrial intelligence) because our expansion is changing the composition of the Earth's atmosphere, via greenhouse gas emissions."

By using spectrometry, extraterrestrials could detect changes in Earth's atmosphere and deduce that we're out of control, speculated the researchers, among a number of other scenarios discussed in the 33-page paper.

Heavy Clashes Near Qaddafi Compound as Rebels Overtake Most of Tripoli

Well they have moved into Tripoli will they hold it?
Probably not without NATO's help, but whatever.

Foxnews

After a morning of heavy fighting near Muammar al-Qaddafi's compound in Tripoli, the Libyan rebels' top diplomat in London said that only five percent of the capital city was still controlled by forces loyal to the Libyan leader.

Mahmud Nacua says there are "still some pockets" of support for Qaddafi, but rebels are asserting control.

He says they have not yet found Qaddafi but "the fighters will turn over every stone to find him, to arrest him, and to put him in the court."

Meanwhile, NATO announced that combat air patrols over Libya will continue until all pro-Qaddafi forces surrender.

Assad Warns Against Military Invervention in Syria

I don't believe anyone wants to intervene in Syria, it is a shame what is going on but if there was going to be an intervention we would have heard talk of one by now; not just BS about sanctions.

Foxnews

Syrian President Bashar Assad said Sunday his regime was in no danger of collapse and warned against any foreign military intervention in his country as the regime tries to crush a 5-month-old popular uprising.

In his fourth public appearance since the revolt against his family's 40-year rule erupted in mid-March, Assad insisted that security forces were making inroads against the uprising.

"It may seem dangerous ... but in fact we are able to deal with it," he told state-run TV in a 40-minute interview. It was the first time he has agreed to take any questions, although the state-owned network is a mouthpiece for the regime.

World's oldest fossils discovered

Pre Oxygen Sulphur life !
Now think about that and look at all the Planets and exoplanets there are in the Universe and honestly say there is no life in it other than on Earth.

TG Daily
Scientists say they've found the world's oldest fossils, the remains of tiny creatures that lived 3.4 billion years ago in a pre-oxygen world.

‘At last we have good solid evidence for life over 3.4 billion years ago. It confirms there were bacteria at this time, living without oxygen,’ says Professor Martin Brasier of the Department of Earth Sciences at Oxford.

The Earth was hotter than today, and dominated by volcanic activity. The oceans were as warm as a bath, and circulating currents were very strong. Land masses were small and the tidal range was huge.

And without plants or algae to photosynthesise and produce oxygen, very little oxygen was present. The early life appears to have been based on sulphur rather than oxygen for energy and growth.

"Such bacteria are still common today. Sulphur bacteria are found in smelly ditches, soil, hot springs, hydrothermal vents – anywhere where there’s little free oxygen and they can live off organic matter,’ says Brasier.

The microfossils were found in a remote part of Western Australia called Strelley Pool - the remains of the oldest beach or shoreline known on Earth - in some of the oldest sedimentary rocks that can be found anywhere.

Pakistan mosque bombing: one of country's worst attacks

The Taliban strikes again, this time killing Praying Muslims while in a Mosque; obviously they were not the right kind of Muslims.

About 50 Dead.

Islam, The religion of Intolerance and if you do not comply with our beliefs we will blow you up too.

The Christian Science Monitor
In one of Pakistan's deadliest attacks in recent years, a suicide bomber blew himself up in a packed mosque Friday, killing at least 50 worshipers and injuring more than 100 in Pakistan’s tribal belt of Khyber.

Around 400 tribesmen were at the main Madina Mosque in Jamrod performing Friday prayers when the bomber detonated his bomb. The explosion caused the roof of the mosque to collapse, burying many of the worshipers.

“I was offering prayers when the blast hit us. I fell unconscious and when regained consciousness I could only see clouds of smoke, dead and injured around me," says Hashmat Ullah Kooki Khel, a witness the Monitor reached by phone.

Most of the victims belong to THE Kookikhel tribe that is largely considered to pro-government and anti-Taliban. The Pakistani Taliban has not claimed responsibility but officials have blamed the militants for the bombing.

“This is [a] cowardly attack by Taliban and the attackers cannot be Muslims to kill innocent worshipers in the holy month of Ramadan,” Mian Iftikhar Hussain, information minister of Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa province, told reporters. During the month-long holiday, Muslims all over the world observe fasting and offer special prayers.

Amnesty for Illegals? But I thought...

But I thought that if I were to trespass on someones property it is Illegal for me to do so and if I cause any problems while doing so I can go to Jail!

So Illegal immigrants can trespass into the United States, mooch our welfare system, health care system and what ever else they can they litter our border areas ( which is illegal) they basically cause serious problems in a lot of areas.

Of course not all of them are bad but, they all have done one thing illegal, TRESPASS into the United States.

For this alone they should be booted back across the border, no questions asked just go back to where you came from and fill out the paper work like everyone else.

When you come here illegally you are breaking the law.

Foxnews
Republicans accused the Obama administration of instituting "backdoor amnesty" after officials announced they would launch a case-by-case review of illegal immigrants slated for deportation in an effort to thin the list and focus resources on kicking out criminals.

The move would likely grant a reprieve to many would-be DREAM Act beneficiaries and thousands of others. The DREAM Act is a proposal in Congress to give illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children a chance at legal status if they complete two years of college or military service. Though the bill has not passed, Thursday's announcement could serve to carry out its provisions.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, one of the president's toughest critics on border policy, said the move amounts to the administration implementing an immigration overhaul "via executive fiat."

"This plan amounts to backdoor amnesty for hundreds of thousands -- if not millions -- of illegal aliens," the Republican governor said in a written statement. "We need to remind President Obama that we elected a president that serves beneath the law and did not anoint a king that is above the law."

Texas Republican Rep. Michael McCaul said the plan circumvents Congress.

"It is just the latest attempt by this president to bypass the intended legislative process when he does not get his way," McCaul said.

Spaceport USA, Report.

When I was working in Texas, I had tried to visit this jobsite, Nothin doin from the contractors.
Nothing like fresh concrete paving the desert floor.

How Pretty.

So when I get rich I will definitely drop the 200,000 or what ever it may be by that time, to go into space; my better half says different but...

Foxnews
In the deserts of the western United States, space tourism is becoming a reality as construction progresses on Spaceport America -- the world’s first purpose-built commercial space travel facility, 45 miles north of Las Cruces, N.M.

Today, concrete and rebar litter the ground here as crews build walls and windows, roads and runways. They've been toiling for a year and a half and will continue until 2013, when a glowing, round disk standing testimony to the future will be unveiled in the desert -- at least according to artists' imaginations of the facility.

When the facility is finished, a mere $200,000 will let you take a voyage at least partway to the stars: Virgin Galactic will be the first carrier to transport space-curious passengers from Spaceport America on its sub-orbital missions.

Ridley Scott is planning to return to the futuristic world of "Blade Runner," his iconic 1982 film, which for me set the bar for what all films dealing with the future should look like. Yes, living in this world, today, I fully anticipate a future world that will be bleak, dark and rainy -- and possibly inhabited by fake humans.

This "Blade Runner" project is described as a "follow up" to the first film and The Hollywood Reporter says, "filmmakers have not yet disclosed whether it will function as a prequel or a sequel to the original."

Attack on British Council in Kabul Kills 10

The Taliban still trying to get their point across.

"Taliban mujahedeen stormed these two compounds and heavy fighting is going on with the Afghan police," Mujahid said. "Today [Friday] is our independence day from Britain. They recognized our independence 92 years ago -- today's attack was marking that day.

Ignorant idiots, What would the world think if the U.S. decided to attack England on the 4th of July, our independence day, just because we won the war?

Foxnews
NATO forces backed by helicopters were battling Friday with insurgents who killed at least ten people, including a foreign soldier, in an assault on a British cultural center in the Afghan capital.

At least five blasts, claimed by the Taliban, rocked the British Council offices in Kabul from the early hours of the morning, during a public holiday marking Afghanistan's independence from Britain in 1919.

Insurgents holed up in the compound, and troops from NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were called in to assist the operation.

The road leading up to the British Council was blocked by three large armored cars and two humvees, and Apache helicopters were seen flying overhead.

Qaddafi Preparing to Flee Libya

O.K., We will See !

Haven't we heard this before.

Foxnews

Muammar al-Qaddafi is preparing to flee Libya possibly within the next few days, U.S. officials citing intelligence reports tell NBC News.

Officials are not completely certain that the Libyan leader will leave but reports point to him considering a move with his family possibly for exile in Tunisia.

The reports come a day after Pentagon officials described Libyan rebel gains as “significant developments” in the civil war that has engulfed the country.

On Wednesday, Pentagon Spokesman George Little said that "the future doesn't look particularly bright for (Libyan leader Col. Muammar) Qaddafi, but we'll have to see where things go."

He attributed the outlook to the rebel effort combined with sustained pressure from NATO operations and the economic and diplomatic sanctions.

Local Burger King Shut Down After Officials Reportedly Find Over 200 Species of Flies

Hows that Whopper? Don't mind those flies now, they don't eat much.

Foxnews
A Chicago Burger King has been shut down after inspectors say they were so many flies in the fast food restaurant that they were "afraid to open their mouths," reports MyFoxChicago.com

The South Side Burger King reportedly had more than 200 flying insects of various types that were found on the walls, ceilings, clean dish shelving, sink, food storage area, dry storage area, on the tubing of boxes of soft drink syrup, and in front of the drive-up window.

Officials shut down the eatery Tuesday.

"Pest control was woefully inadequate and poor housekeeping fueled the infestation of flying insects at the Burger King near 95th and Ashland," said Josie Cruz, deputy commissioner of Street & Sanitation's Bureau of Rodent Control.

Bomb plot aimed for mass casualties

Kids are real messed up these days.

The Salt Lake Tribune
Tampa, Fla. • Tampa police have arrested an expelled student after thwarting what they deemed a potentially "catastrophic" plot to set off a bomb at his former high school and cause mass casualties on the first day of classes next week, authorities said Wednesday.

Police Chief Jane Castor said Jared Cano, 17, had threatened to plant a bomb at Freedom High School in north Tampa and detonate the device when students return Tuesday.

The suspect was arrested Tuesday night after someone alerted police to the alleged plot.

Castor told a news conference that the alleged bombing plot was planned minute by minute and the intent was to cause more casualties than the 1999 Columbine High School massacre, which resulted in 13 deaths before the two shooters killed themselves.

Castor said police and the school system "were probably able to thwart a potentially catastrophic event, the likes of which the city of Tampa has not seen, and hopefully never will."

Hackers break into BART police union Web site

Anonymous does it again.
And the feds are being sicked on em.
Good luck guys.

CNET

Hackers have broken into a second Web site affiliated with the San Francisco Bay Area subway system, which has come under fire in the last week for turning off cell phone service during a protest.

A database belonging to the BART Police Officers Association was posted online today, complete with full names, e-mail addresses, home addresses, and passwords. BART stands for Bay Area Rapid Transit.

It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the embarrassing information leak--a Twitter account affiliated with Anonymous said that no one has "claimed responsibility for the hack," and speculated that it could be the work of either an ally or an adversary.

As of this afternoon, the BARTpoa.com Web site was offline. "These people are criminals and we're going to forward this information to the FBI," the BART union president, Jesse Sekhon, told the San Francisco Chronicle today. "These people need to be brought to justice. They can't be terrorizing people."

Congress to Probe Suspected Connection Between Anwar al-Awlaki and 9/11

Would not surprise me, how about you?
Awlaki was a lot younger and probably trying to get on the good side of Al Qaida in the days before 9/11, and the whole thing may have been overlooked or swept under by the 9/11 investigators.

Yep no need to have him on the Kill or capture list.

Foxnews
The House Homeland Security Committee “has initiated an investigation” into the radical Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and whether he was an overlooked key player in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, a letter from the committee chairman to Attorney General Eric Holder says.

The three-page letter, obtained exclusively by Fox News, makes the case that a decade after the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil, the full story of 9/11 has not been told.

“This congressional investigation will seek to determine:

"1. To what extent Anwar al-Awlaki wittingly or unwittingly facilitated the plot of the 9/11 hijackers; and

"2. to what extent al-Awlaki was an al Qaeda operative, offering support to acts of terrorism before 9/11.”

The letter to Holder, sent by Republican Rep. Peter King of New York, confirms that investigators believe the American cleric's contacts with three of the five hijackers on Flight 77, which slammed into the Pentagon, were more than a series of coincidences, but rather evidence of a purposeful relationship.

Radioactive isotope, maybe from Fukushima, detected, but ...

But... there is nothing to worry about, move along sheeple, the radioactive isotopes will not hurt you !

My Ass.

The Los Angeles Times
Very small amounts of a radioactive isotope of sulfur, believed to have traveled across the Pacific Ocean from the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan, have been detected in La Jolla, Calif., by UC San Diego scientists.

But there's no need to worry: The amounts are nowhere near enough to cause health problems, researchers said.

Senior author Mark Thiemens and his team keep tabs on levels of sulfur-35 as part of their climate research. Readings collected shortly after the March 11 tsunami in Japan indicated that there were 1,500 atoms of sulfur-35 per square meter of air in La Jolla, a significant increase over normal levels.

The UCSD team interpreted the bump as the result of a reaction that would have occurred when plant workers used seawater to cool overheating reactors at Fukushima. Neutrons from the reactor core would have reacted with chlorine in ocean water to create radioactive sulfur, Thiemens said.

"The levels we observed are in no way harmful in California," Thiemens said.

Iraq attacks raise new concerns about U.S. pullout

Ah yeah, Iraq is in for a world of shit when we pull out, and I think they know it.
In another day of Muslim Killing Muslim violence at least 70 dead ! just like the old days of Iraq.

the Los Angeles Times
A series of blasts and gunshots ripped across Iraq on Monday, killing at least 70 people and wounding more than 300 in a spasm of bloodshed that raised fresh concerns that the nation's security forces might be overwhelmed by insurgents when American soldiers withdraw later this year.

The sprawling attacks, including suicide bombers, car explosions and militants firing Kalashnikov rifles, struck from north to south throughout the morning in what appeared to be a coordinated plan. Soldiers, police officers and market shoppers were targeted in Najaf, Kut, Baghdad, Baqubah and other areas.

The violence made for one of the most vicious days in Iraq in months and erupted in the middle of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. The country shook with explosions as families gathered their dead and Iraqis stood shaking their heads beside craters and charred cars in attacks reminiscent of the fighting between Shiite and Sunni Muslims four years ago.

It appeared Iraq was in a time warp, a nation still struggling with terrorists, sectarian gangs and militias at a time much of the Arab world is moving to replace extremism through revolutions for democracy. The violence seemed intent on disrupting the government of Prime Minister Nouri Maliki as U.S. forces are preparing to leave eight years after the fall of Saddam Hussein.

provoking unrest in the streets seems to be an outside the U.S. type thing, but it may be starting here.

Mercurynews.com
An anonymous hacker group's threat to shut down the BART website did not happen at the promised hour Sunday, but the group hacked into an external BART website that has more than 50,000 email subscribers and posted its logo on the home page.

Transit officials said they will close down the MyBart website, which is run by an external vendor, and inform all the members that their names, phone numbers and email addressed may have been compromised.

The transit agency remained on alert and was also working to thwart plans by protesters to disrupt the Monday afternoon commute at the Civic Center station in downtown San Francisco.

"We're making preparations to try to prevent any unsafe conditions on the platform," said BART spokesman Jim Allison. "I'm not going to discuss any specifics, other than to say we're preparing."

In a video manifesto posted Sunday, an international computer hacking group that calls itself Anonymous or AnonyOps instructed Bay Area residents to wear red shirts, masks and bring cameras to a planned protest at 5 p.m. Monday.

Syrian Navy Ships Join Attack on Coastal City

“Bombing, shelling and shooting all night long,” said a 29-year-old resident of one besieged neighborhood who gave her name as Muhra. “Shooting all over the city and shelling over our heads. We hid inside our house and closed all the doors.”

Taking it from all sides now the Syrian people are in some deep trouble.
All that talking by the U.N. and a few Countries (the U.S. Included) has done nothing to deter Bashar al-ASSad from stopping.

With nobody willing to step in the Syrian People will either die or just give up.

The New York Times
In yet another escalation of its crackdown on dissent, the Syrian government unleashed navy vessels, tanks and a mix of soldiers, security forces and paramilitary fighters against the port city of Latakia on Sunday, killing at least 25 people, including three children, activists and residents said.

The attacks in Latakia marked the third weekend in a row that the government has defied international condemnations in its campaign to snuff out a remarkably resilient uprising, which began in March. The attacks have stoked fresh outrage, in part because they have come during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, traditionally a time of piety and festivity when observant Muslims fast from dawn to dusk.

The attacks grew in ferocity on Sunday, and activists and residents said for the first time that gunfire was coming from navy vessels anchored off the coast. As in Hama, activists said security forces fired anti-aircraft weapons at civilian buildings. In addition, the activists said, land line telephones and Internet connections were cut off to some neighborhoods of Latakia, a city of 650,000 that serves as Syria’s main port.

US citizen kidnapped from his Lahore residence

Fox news is saying his last name is Weinstein.
doesn't sound good as they tortured his guards before taking him.

Dawn.com

LAHORE: An American citizen was kidnapped from his residence in Lahore on Saturday, police said.

Police identified the man as “J.E. Warner”, who they said was working on a development project in the country’s tribal areas, where Pakistani troops have been battling insurgents for years.

A US Embassy spokesman said they were trying to confirm the reports.

“Some six to eight people broke into his house at around 3:30 a.m., when security guards on duty were making preparation for fasting,” police official Tajamal Hussain told Reuters.

“Two of the assailants came from the front gate while about six others used the backdoor. They tortured the guards and then took the American with them.”

Hussain said Warner, in his 60s, had been living in Pakistan for five to six years. He mostly lived in Islamabad but had been travelling to Lahore.

Another official said they had no details about the kidnappers.

NYPD forms new social media unit to mine Facebook and Twitter for mayhem

After the riots in Europe what do you expect?
Especially when we may start seeing the same thing here in the U.S.
I bet people will complain about the whole set up, and as I always say- Those are the ones to watch.

The Daily News
The NYPD has formed a new unit to track troublemakers who announce plans or brag about their crimes on Twitter, MySpace and Facebook.

Newly named Assistant Commissioner Kevin O'Connor, one of the department's online and gang gurus, has been put in charge of the new juvenile justice unit. He and his staff will mine social media, looking for info about troublesome house parties, gang showdowns and other potential mayhem, sources said.

The power of social media to empower both criminals and cops has been on full display in London this week, where riots and looting have been spreading dramatically.

The rioters have been using Twitter and BlackBerry messages to choose targets for looting or burning - and to alert one another about police positions.

The very same social media have been a source for those trying to help cops by posting photos of rioters.

O'Connor's new unit will operate under the Community Affairs Bureau; it will also handle outreach programs, with its mandate going beyond the Net.

Turkey gives Syria ultimatum to stop violence

Turkey to Syria,
"Stop it or we will no longer be friends"

pretty tough talk right there, I'm sure Syria will stop killing its people now !

Ynet
Turkey is not ruling out international intervention in Syria, if President Bashar Assad's regime continues its military crackdown against civilians, a senior official in Ankara told Turkey-based Hurriyet paper on Saturday.

The source said that Turkish President Abdullah Gul sent a letter to his Syrian counterpart through Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, in which he delivered an ultimatum to Damascus, demanding to end all violence against protesters.

"Up until now, we've tried to convince the Western nations to give Assad more time to implement reforms. We were as friendly as we could be – we held joint cabinet meetings and canceled the need for visas," Hurriyet quoted the source as saying.

"But if the Syrian regime doesn't listen to our advice, as their friend and neighbor, and continues to shoot on its own people – we can no longer be Turkey's friend," he noted.

Best Ways to Watch Perseid Meteor Shower, Despite Full Moon Interference

Last year they were phenomenal, this year not so good maybe.
But well worth getting up a bit early for.

IBTimes
While the several nights before the peak give you better chances to observe the beauty of meteors on the dark sky, it is too early to give up on the full moon-lit sky this weekend.

Turn your back on the bright moon, and look mainly to the northwest, below the summer triangle of Vega, Deneb, and Altair. Space.com also advised stargazers to look away from the radiant, because the longest and brightest meteors will be about 90 degrees away. The radiant is now located in the constellation Cassiopeia, not Perseus, with its characteristic "W" shape.

The best hours for the meteor shower to monopolize the night sky is after the moon has set and before the sun rises. Following the best viewing nights on Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday night will also see a window of dark skies, while it's shorter. The meteor will be best seen from 3:29 a.m. to 3:56 a.m. in Boston, and 4:02 a.m. to 4:32 a.m. in Washington D.C. on Thursday, according to a table provided by Space.com.

On the very night of Friday to Saturday, 2 a.m. will be the peak of the Perseids, when over 100 meteors per hour will light up the sky.

Mexico Arrests Trafficker Accused of 600 Killings

Good news for the mexican people , but how many more like him are out there?
600 people is just a fraction of the 45,000 killed in Mexico since this has all began !
To make a difference the Mexican military will have to do a little better.

Foxnews
Mexican police arrested the suspected leader of a brutal drug gang called "The Hand with Eyes" and he has confessed to helping carry out or ordering more than 600 murders, authorities said Thursday.

Oscar Osvaldo Garcia Montoya, 36, was arrested in an overnight raid on a presumed safe house on the outskirts of Mexico City, State of Mexico Attorney General Alfredo Castillo said at a news conference.

"The Hand with Eyes" is one of the groups blamed for bringing the drug violence typical of northern Mexico to Mexico City and its surrounding areas.

The organization is known for extreme violence, including decapitations. Many of its victims have been drug dealers and rivals killed as the group fought for control of drug sales in Mexico state, an area that includes many of the poor suburbs ringing the capital.

Castillo said Garcia is a deserter from the Mexican marines who worked as a bodyguard for major cartel figures including Edgar Valdez, aka "La Barbie," a top assassin for the Beltran Leyva cartel until he was arrested in 2010.

Falcon hypersonic vehicle test flight fails

The Falcon bit the dust after 9 minutes, as did the first time they tried this.
Mach5 is the point we can not get past, it is very unstable to fly anything past that.
surely they will attempt it again in the future when they can get some funding in order.

The Los Angeles Times
A test flight of an experimental aircraft traveling at 20 times the speed of sound ended prematurely Thursday morning when the arrowhead-shaped vehicle failed and stopped sending back real-time data to engineers and scientists who were monitoring the mission.

The unmanned aircraft, dubbed Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2, was meant to test new technologies that could give the Pentagon the capability to deliver non-nuclear military strikes anywhere on the globe in less than an hour.

But the Falcon's test flight ended prematurely and it plunged into the Pacific Ocean. It was the second and last scheduled flight for the Falcon program, which began in 2003 and cost taxpayers about $320 million. Both flights failed to go the distance.

A" Mysterious" Explosion ?

Mysterious my ass, the dumbass was building some kind of bomb and sploded himself up while doing it.
This is where I encourage all young Gazan males to join the workforce for Hamas or whatever militant rejects they choose to represent, stay uneducated people you get yourselves real far !

The Daily Star
A member of Hamas' armed wing was killed Thursday in a "mysterious explosion" in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, the group and Palestinian medical sources said.
The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades announced the death in a statement, naming the militant as 20-year-old Ali Nayef al-Haj.

"Ali Nayef al-Haj of Yebna refugee camp was martyred on Thursday in an accidental internal explosion," the group said.

The group gave no additional details, but it also made no accusations that Israel was involved in the death.

Adham Abu Selmiya, a spokesman for the Hamas-run medical services in the Gaza Strip, said only that "a citizen was killed in a mysterious explosion," adding that the man's body arrived at the Abu Yusef al-Najjar hospital "in tatters."

Militants in the Gaza Strip have regularly been injured or even killed while handling explosive materials.

Syrian forces push into Saraqib, death toll escalates

(CNN) -- Syrian troops rolled into the northwestern city of Saraqib early Thursday morning, just hours after evening prayers there called for an end to President Bashar al-Assad's reign, an opposition group said.

Residents reported heavy gunfire soon after the troops arrived in tanks and buses, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The latest military action comes as violence erupted in other towns and amid a growing chorus of international calls for Syria's government to end its brutal drive on peaceful protesters...

After evening prayers in Hama on Wednesday, an opposition activist says demonstrators took to the streets in the southern part of the city. Security forces opened fire, killing two people, according to the activist, who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons.

Taliban men who hit SEALs' helicopter killed, officials say

It was a little to personal to use predators, so some nice F-16s did the trick.
And the Taliban Pooped themselves seconds before the missiles hit their shack!

Nice job guys keep it up !

The Los Angeles Times
The retribution wasn't long in coming.

An American airstrike killed the Taliban insurgents whose attack caused a helicopter crash that killed 22 Navy SEALs and eight other U.S. service members, military officials in Kabul and Washington said Wednesday.

However, Marine Gen. John R. Allen, the U.S. commander in Afghanistan, told reporters at the Pentagon that the main Taliban leader in the area remained at large. He did not identify that insurgent commander, the hunt for whom set in motion the events that led to the crash of the CH-47 Chinook helicopter on Saturday.

A US drone strike in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal belt along the Afghan border on Wednesday killed at least seven fighters of the militant Haqqani network, local security officials said.

A US drone fired two missiles, destroying a vehicle and a compound near Miramshah, the main town in North Waziristan tribal district. Three other militants were wounded in the strike, the officials said.

“At least seven militants were killed in the drone strike. All of them were Haqqani’s men,” a Pakistani security official in Miramshah told AFP.

Fundamentalist sect leader jailed for life for sex with child brides

That will teach him!
I would like to hear what he has to say now, Fucking Pig.

Guardian.co.uk

Warren Jeffs, the leader of the Fundamentalist Mormon church that practises polygamy, is likely to spend the rest of his life behind bars after he was given the maximum sentence for taking girls as young as 12 to be his brides.

Jeffs, 55, who represented himself during most of his trial though he refused to attend the final stages, claimed that his prosecution was a violation of his religious rights and warned it would lead to "sickness and death" being brought on the locality.

But a Texas jury took just 40 minutes to hand him the toughest sentence open to them – life in prison for aggravated sexual assault and 20 years in prison for sexual assault of a child. The sentences followed Jeffs's conviction last week on two counts relating to polygamist marriages with girls aged 12 and 15.

The sentencing of Jeffs brings to an end the most high-profile prosecution yet of a member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The church, which has been based in Eldorado in west Texas since 2004, claims to be the genuine Mormon church adhering to the traditional practice of polygamy, or plural marriage as it calls it.

Foxnews
A U.S. drone strike Wednesday in Pakistan killed up to 21 Afghan fighters from the Al Qaeda-linked Haqqani network, considered the top U.S. foe in eastern Afghanistan.

Pakistani officials said a US drone fired two missiles, destroying a vehicle and a compound in North Waziristan, the headquarters of the Haqqani leadership and the most infamous militant bastion in the tribal belt.

"More dead bodies have been dug out of the debris. Twenty-one militants from the Haqqani group were killed and three were injured," a Pakistani security official said.

Unions have ass's Handed to them Again in Wisconsin.

Republicans held onto control of the Wisconsin Senate on Tuesday, beating back four Democratic challengers in a recall election despite an intense political backlash against GOP support for Gov. Scott Walker's effort to curb public employees' union rights.

Fueled by millions of dollars from national labor groups, the attempt to remove GOP incumbents served as both a referendum on Walker's conservative revolution and could provide a new gauge of the public mood less than a year after Republicans made sweeping gains in this state and many others.

Two Democratic incumbents face recalls next week, but even if Democrats win those they will still be in the minority.

Turnout was strong in the morning and steady in the afternoon in communities such as Whitefish Bay, Menomonee Falls and Shorewood, where Sen. Alberta Darling was one of the four Republicans to hold onto her seat.

Experimental Aircraft to Go From Zero to 13,000 in Hypersonic Test Launch

Awesome stuff, but I don't know if the Human body can take such speeds within Earths atmosphere...

The goal of the project is to eventually enable the U.S. military to strike anywhere in the world in less than an hour

Oh! That explains it.

Foxnews
An unmanned aircraft that can travel at the breakneck speed of 20 times the speed of sound will take off Wednesday from an Air Force base in California for a test flight.

The Falcon HTV-2 is an arrow-shaped aircraft that launches on a rocket, separates and then glides at hypersonic speeds of 13,000 mph through the Earth’s atmosphere. (To put it in perspective, it would take less than 12 minutes to fly from New York to Los Angeles.)

Wednesday’s launch marks the aircraft's second flight. In April 2010, the Falcon flew for nine minutes, including 130 seconds of Mach 22 to Mach 17 flight, according to DARPA, the military's research arm.

The goal of the second flight is to "validate our assumptions and gain further insight into extremely high Mach regimes that we cannot fully replicate on the ground," Air Force Maj. Chris Schulz said in a DARPA news release.

U.S. could call for al-Assad to step down

Oh, now its gonna get serious; the U.S. is talking to the U.N.(Useless Nitwits) about talking to Bashar Al-ASSad about stepping down!
This Should get some quick results, like more tanks and deaths!

Keep talking folks the Syrian people will keep dying while you try to figure things out between all of ya !

CNN
The international cries for Syria's government to end a bloody crackdown on civilians could intensify Wednesday as activist groups reported fresh onslaughts in several cities.

The United Nations Security Council is expected Wednesday to follow up on a statement last week that condemned the Syrian regime for attacks on peaceful protesters and called for both sides to end the violence.

Meanwhile, the United States is moving toward issuing an explicit call for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down, U.S. government sources told CNN Tuesday.

The move is expected to be announced in coming days after U.S. officials consult with the United Nations Security Council, the sources said. They said the question of whether to call for al-Assad to step down has been under discussion over the past few weeks, the sources said.

While international leaders mull their next steps, heavy gunfire, explosions and tanks permeated the eastern city of Deir Ezzor on Wednesday, an activist group and a resident said.

Anonymous Crosses Swords with Facebook

"Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed, the hackers warned Facebook on a Youtube video message.

750 Million of you Facebook users need to prepare for your Info to be stolen then sold, Hope you don't have to much of your private info on your page.

That is if this a real threat, that part is kinda unknown;but...

International Business Times

The dark angels of anti-security, hacker collective Anonymous, have set eyes on Facebook for its alleged large-scale security violations and sell-off of private individuals' data to government agencies.

The "hacktivists" said on Tuesday they will do 750 million Facebook users a "a favor" by killing the social networking site. They have set a D-Day, November 5, which in Britain is Guy Fawkes Day. Facebook has not yet responded to the outrageous claims of the hackers whose underground war against government agencies and some of the largest corporations in the world has entered a decisive stage.

Nor has there been any independent confirmation if the message posted on behalf of Anonymous is real or fake, or if it is a collective decision or a fringe comment.

Now the amorphous hacker community has said Facebook deserves to be destroyed. "Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed, the hackers warned Facebook on a Youtube video message.

And to the fellow hackers it said: "If you are a willing hacktivist or a guy who just wants to protect the freedom of information then join the cause and kill facebook for the sake of your own privacy."

Rioting continues for third night in London

This is definitely more than just a few people pissed off over a shooting.

Can you say Anarchists? You know those little pieces of shit you see at all the riots, Dressed in black hoodies and their faces masked.

Xinhuanet
The streets of London were hit on Monday evening with a third night of violence as rioters attacked police, set fire to cars and looted shops in areas across the capital, which pressed Prime Minister David Cameron to cut short his holiday.

The districts of Peckham, Lewisham, Croydon and Deptford in south London saw violence, as well as Hackney in east London. Shops were set on fire in Peckham, a building set alight in Croydon and cars were torched in Lewisham and Deptford.

Police reported they had made arrests in the north London district of Kilburn.

Meanwhile, Cameron has decided to cut short his holiday to return to London due to the ongoing riots, his office said on Monday night.

Cameron, who is on vacation in Italy, will return overnight and hold a high-level meeting on the escalating riots on Tuesday, his office said in a brief statement.

For the first time since the violence began on Saturday evening, disturbances have been reported outside London.

Accused Pakistan Taliban backer denied bail in Miami

No bail for the Taliban Sympathizers.
Now they can sit and rot in a jail cell, until their convictions and then they can rot some more.

A US federal judge has denied bail for the son of a Florida imam arrested on charges of financing and supporting the Pakistani Taliban.

US prosecutors have charged Irfan Khan, 37, along with his father and brother, who is also an imam at another Florida mosque, with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists.

The three Pakistani-born US citizens were arrested in May and are among six people indicted on charges they conspired to transfer about $50,000 and provide other support for the Pakistani Taliban, which the US government considers a terrorist organization.(Because they are Terrorists !Ed)

In a ruling late on Friday, Judge Adalberto Jordan denied bail for Khan, saying he represented a flight risk. The judge had already rejected bail requests for the other two men.

Jordan said the evidence against Khan was “substantial” but not as strong as that against his father, Hafiz Muhammed Sher Ali Khan, 76, who was an imam at the Miami Mosque at the time of his arrest.

All three men have pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted, the men face up to 15 years in prison for each count of the indictment.

but it is showing the people of Somalia that they are being Manipulated by idiots that can not help them in a true time of need.

So heres to a big black eye for Al-Shabaab.

Islam the Religion of starving your people to death.

BBC

Somalia's militant Islamist group al-Shabab is in crisis, as it battles to cope with the famine that is far worse in areas under its control than other partsof the country, leading to reports of splits in the leadership of the al-Qaeda-linked group.

The famine has forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee the Lower Shabelle and Bakool regions in search of food.

Many are escaping to the capital, Mogadishu, where over the weekend the group made what it called a tactical withdrawal of its forces from the northern suburbs that were under its control.

Others are walking for days to reach camps in neighbouring Kenya and Ethiopia, arch-foes of al-Shabab.

"It is not a good picture for al-Shabab," says US-based Somali journalist Abdirahman Aynte, who is writing a book on the movement.

"Nearly 500,000 people have left. Al-Shabab cannot do anything about it. They have become bystanders."

Syria comes under global reproach for crackdown

There are times when diplomacy just makes no sense, this is one of them.

If Syria will not listen to the U.N. Then what makes these countries think they will listen to them.

But everyone will try, unsuccessfully, but they will try.

BEIRUT (AP) — The Syrian regime faced a chorus of global reproach Tuesday as envoys from Turkey, India, Brazil and South Africa headed to Damascus to press President Bashar Assad to end his violent crackdown on a five-month-old uprising.

The visit by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was significant because Turkey until recently had close ties to Damascus. But Ankara has become increasingly critical of its neighbor over the bloodshed.

Davutoglu will deliver a strong message to Damascus, Turkey's prime minister has said.

In Washington, U.S. State Department spokesman Mark Toner lauded the visit and said Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton had spoken to Davutoglu.

"They did talk about the situation in Syria, you know, and we believe it's another opportunity to send yet another strong message to Assad that this crackdown on peaceful protesters cannot stand," Toner said Monday.

Have your spot in that hanbasket yet ?

Dow closes down 634 points after final plunge

Me neither, I want to watch the mayhem.

Just another "Sonofabitch" Day !

Investors piled out of stocks and into a few "safe havens," such as gold and Treasury bonds. The appetite for Treasury bonds suggests that the Standard & Poor's downgrade has not shaken investors' faith in U.S. bonds.

Market experts said the Monday sell-off was sparked by the S&P announcement but was motivated more by growing concerns about the weakness of the global economy.

"It’s really all about economics," said Mike Norman, the chief financial strategist at John Thomas Financial.

The Dow ended the day down 634.76 points, or 5.5%, to 10,809.85. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell even more sharply, finishing the day down 79.83 points, or 6.6%, to 1,119.55.

Syrian tanks storm Deir al-Zour

And another day of tank murders in Syria, maybe the U.N. will step in once again and scold al-ASSad.

The Daily Star
AMMAN: Syrian tanks stormed a city in the east of the country Sunday, crushing makeshift barricades, opening fire and seizing the central square, residents said, in a fresh crackdown that activists said killed dozens of civilians.

The assault on the provincial capital Deir al-Zour comes a week after tanks stormed the city of Hama, where activists say scores have been killed in an ongoing siege to crush five-months of protests against President Bashar Assad’s rule.

“Early this morning columns of army tanks and bulldozers, under cover of heavy rounds of gunfire, stormed into the western and northern entrances of the city and dismantled barricades set up by residents,” a Deir al-Zour resident said. “A dozen tanks are taking position in the main square in Jubaila market in the northern sector of Deir al-Zour,” the resident, who gave his name as Abu Bakr, said by telephone.

Abundant Antimatter Circles the Earth

The find could one day open the door to fueling spacecraft with the exotic particle, an idea already being explored from NASA's Institute for Advanced Concepts.

A band of anti-protons have been discovered ringing around the earth, researchers have found, adding to the list of particles Earth holds within its magnetic field.

Cosmic rays constantly rain in from space, colliding with earth's atmosphere and creating a spray of new particles. Scientists have observed antiparticles before, such as anti-protons, but this is the first time antiprotons have been observed.

Many of these particles become trapped inside Earth's Van Allen radiation belts, the donut shaped zones around Earth where particles spiral around the planet's magnetic field.

US helicopter shot down in Taliban trap

War sucks, but we should not run away because of this one incident as tragic as it is.
We should stop messing around and start taking it to the Taliban non stop, a full on assault.
Send in more troops and get the job done, we can not change the minds of these people but we can put bullets through them !

Dawn.com
KABUL: A helicopter which crashed killing 30 US troops in Afghanistan was shot down after the Taliban laid a trap to lure US forces into the area, an Afghan government official said Monday.

“Now it’s confirmed that the helicopter was shot down and it was a trap that was set by a Taliban commander,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The official said the commander lured US forces to the scene by telling them there was a Taliban meeting taking place there.

The official said that President Hamid Karzai’s US-backed government “thinks this was a retaliation attack for the killing of Osama Bin Laden.” The Taliban did not make such an assertion when they claimed responsibility for the attack.

Citing intelligence “gathered from the area,” the official blamed Qari Tahir, a Taliban commander, for masterminding the attack. He alleged that four Pakistani nationals helped Tahir carry out the strike.

Pakistani official: 200 militants killed in month

Looting, rioting spreads in London

Second day of riots, 35 police injured.
No tanks, snipers or suicide bombings though; the police are just trying to calm them not kill them.

The Economic Times
Several instances of looting and clashes were reported across the city as mob angry over the killing of a man in north London combined with ennui over harsh economic conditions attacked police in a second night of violence, reminding many of racial unrest in the 1980s.

Over 100 people were arrested as the attacks that began in Tottenham spread to areas such as Enfield, Brixton, Dalston, Islington Walthamstow and Tottenham seemed to be coordinated. Oxford Circus was also targeted.

Police brought in additional forces to deal with increasing attacks on public property and maintain peace.

Israeli Military Reportedly Plotting to Cripple Iran in Cyberspace

Excellent, this is exactly what the U.S. should be doing against China and any other country that tries to pull off a cyber attack against us!

Foxnews

Israel has set up a military cyber command to wage a computer war againstIran as senior officers become increasingly concerned that a conventional attack on Tehran’s nuclear sites could end in failure, London's The Sunday Times reported.

The new cyber command will report directly to Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu who has placed the program at the heart of Israel’s defense capability.

“Israel must turn into a global cyber superpower,” he told a meeting of cyber warfare experts recently.

The center, which has been set up under the auspices of military intelligence unit 8200 has already conducted a series of “soft” espionage missions, including hacking into Iran’s version of Facebook and other social networking sites.

The Stuxnet malware virus, which dramatically affected Iran’s nuclear program in 2009 by sabotaging the delicate centrifuges needed to enrich uranium, is widely believed to have been developed by Israeli and American technicians.

Tanks enter Deir al-Zor in east Syria

The U.N. sure got Bashar al-ASSad to stop didn't they.

(Reuters) - Syrian tanks moved into parts of the restive eastern city of Deir al-Zor on Sunday amid the noise of heavy machinegun ffire and explosions, residents and activists said.

"Armored vehicles and tanks have entered several neighborhoods on the outskirts. They are firing heavy machineguns and explosions have been heard in al-Joura district," one city resident told Reuters by telephone.

He said he had heard that three people had been killed in the assault and that the army was making arrests. Syria has barred most independent media since the start of an uprising against President Bashar al-Assad, making it hard to verify accounts from residents, activists and authorities.

U.S. Urges Citizens to Leave Syria 'Immediately'

If you are an American citizen and you are still in Syria after all the shit that has been going on there, you are truly an Idiot!

Foxnews
The United States urged U.S. citizens Friday to depart Syria "immediately," and noted that the Damascus government has placed "severe" constraints on the travel of U.S. diplomats in the country.

The travel warning, an update to an April 25 order for US embassy staff's family members and some non-emergency personnel to leave Syria, expressed growing concern over the violent crackdown by President Bashar al Assad's security forces against pro-democracy protesters.

Last month, pro-government demonstrators attacked the U.S. and French embassies in Damascus, smashing windows and spray-painting walls after the two Western envoys visited the flashpoint protest city of Hama.

"The U.S. Department of State urges U.S. citizens in Syria to depart immediately while commercial transportation is available," the latest travel warning said.

Al-Shabab Militants Withdraw From Somali Capital

The problem is they will not keep the pressure on Al Shabab, they have pushed them out of the capital but they are not killing them; which is the only way to get rid of them, they are like cockroaches.

Islam the Religion of Cockroaches.

VOA
Somali government and Islamist spokesmen say al-Qaida linked al-Shabab militants are pulling out of Mogadishu.

An al-Shabab spokesman says the group began leaving its positions in Mogadishu late Friday. He called it a strategic move to prevent a counter attack. He said al-Shabab will remain in other towns in southern Somalia.

Al-Shabab has been fighting to topple the Somali government. It has also been trying to prevent food aid from being dispersed to millions of victims of drought and famine across Somalia

NASA’s Juno explorer launches on its 5-year journey to Jupiter

Seeing as how their is no Space shuttle anymore, we at least have this to look forward too.
One of the greatest things America has ever done is explored space, and with budgets being cut the private sector will take over; Boeing is starting a space taxi service.

The Bulletin
LOS ANGELES — NASA’s spacecraft Juno lifted off Friday in an incandescent arc over the Atlantic Ocean, the start of a five-year, 1.7 billion-mile trip to Jupiter that scientists believe will unlock some of the secrets behind the origin of the solar system.

Juno launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida aboard an Atlas V rocket, soaring into warm, blue skies.

The craft then conducted two “burns” — bracketing a scheduled coast at 17,500 mph — to set it on the right trajectory.

Juno’s massive solar panels, configured like the spokes of a Ferris wheel, unfurled without a hitch, said Scott Bolton, the mission’s principal investigator and the director of space science at San Antonio’s Southwest Research Institute.

Chopper crash kills 31 U.S. troops, 7 Afghans

A sad day indeed.

An Unfortunate incident in a fire fight takes the lives of 31 American troops, Lets hope that they can finish off the bastard Islamic rejects that fester in Afghanistan.

The Los Angeles Times
Thirty-one American troops and seven Afghans were killed in the overnight downing of a NATO helicopter, President Hamid Karzai's office said Saturday. The Taliban claimed to have shot down the craft.

The deaths are thought to represent the largest loss of military lives in a single incident in the course of the nearly 10-year-old war.

NATO's International Security Assistance Force, or ISAF, confirmed in a terse statement that a crash had occurred and acknowledged "insurgent activity" in the area at the time. A Western military official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Chinook helicopter had apparently been brought down by a rocket-propelled grenade.

16 Countries, Including Mexico, File Briefs Against New Alabama Immigration Law

"Argentina, Boliva, Brazil and Colombia among other Central and South American countries are also named on the brief."

Immigration is such a messy subject, for some, People either want Illegal Immigration to run rampant or they do not want it at all.

I myself say that we should boot the Law breaking Illegals back across the border, If I can not go to Mexico and suck the life out of their social programs then they should not be able to do it here.

Too bad and soooo Sad !

As for the sixteen countries that want to bitch about the way we do things here in the states, you may suck my American nuts !
If you shitholes would improve your countries instead of encouraging your citizens to invade the U.S. maybe the world would be a better place.

But out and pay attention to your own bullshit in your own homes.

Foxnews
In an effort to ensure their citizens are treated fairly in Alabama, 16 nations, including Mexico, filed briefs against the state’s controversial new immigration law that has already drawn fire from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Edward Still, a Birmingham attorney who filed the brief, told The Montgomery Advertiser that the nations “want to have one immigration law and not 50.”

"Mexico has an interest in protecting its citizens and ensuring that their ethnicity is not used as basis for state-sanctioned acts of bias and discrimination," the brief said, according to the paper.

Criticism for the law, which is said to be the strictest state-level immigration law in the country, has been fierce and swift. Besides the DOJ’s lawsuit, the Roman Catholic Church, three dozen plaintiffs represented by the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Immigration Law Center have all filed lawsuits against the state’s governor, The Montgomery Advertiser reported.

Mexico town's police force quits after attack

I would quit too, death is not worth a few pesos a day.

Associated press
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (AP) — An entire 20-man police force resigned in a northern Mexican town after a series of attacks that killed the police chief and five officers over the last three months, state officials said Thursday.

The officers' resignation Thursday left the 13,000 people of Ascension without local police services, Chihuahua state chief prosecutor Carlos Manuel Salas said. State and federal police have moved in to take over police work, he said.

The mass resignation appeared to be connected to a Tuesday attack by gunmen that killed three of the town's officers, Salas said.

But it wasn't the first deadly attack on the police department this year.

In mid-May, police chief Manuel Martinez, who had been in office just seven months, was gunned down with two other officers on a nearby highway. The three had been kidnapped a day before police found their bodies riddled with bullets in the back seat of a sedan.

Dozens die, thousands flee tank assault

Ramadan is a peaceful time for Muslims, a celebration, fasting throughout the day and partying at night.
What better way to celebrate ramadan than with tanks, firing live rounds into crowds and running people over, then gather the bodies and dump them in the river.

Calgary Herald

Salty water may flow on Mars

Water on Mars? Why not, their is water here and water in space.

Water = Life.

The Los Angeles Times

Salty water may flow on Mars in the form of strange, dark lines on the terrain that grow and fade with the seasons, according to recent images. The findings, reported in the journal Science, provide a new line of evidence that life could exist on the Red Planet.

The findings, released Thursday, describe images taken by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, currently circling the planet. The otherwise unremarkable lines on the planet's slopes grow more prominent during the warm season, proliferating from late Martian spring into early fall. This suggests they were made by volatile chemicals that can boil at relatively low temperatures, such as water and carbon dioxide, the authors wrote.

They look rather like flow lines that would be left by running water, ending in light-colored patches that could be material deposited by the flow, the authors added.
